    Firestone badged bikes

No secret that I am a fan of Firestone bikes. We have a "Show me your Monark/Firestone Supercruiser" thread, but nothing devoted to other Firestones. If my memory serves me correct, Huffman, Murray, Snyder, CWC and Colson all made bikes for Firestone. I think it would be cool to see all the...

    Countdown to RRBBO-9! ...START!

2 Graduations and a wedding kept me too busy and too stressed to play last year. The rules sound fine, but won't change much for me. Leaning towards a variation of a lead sled style build. I plan to do a bit of bling but avoid the low rider feel. I want to keep it "hot rod".

    Countdown to RRBBO-9! ...START!

Just jump in and build something that makes you happy and I promise at the least, you'll get a sweet bike for your efforts!

Memory Lane Finds - 2 Firestones

Hey Jason....so where are the pics of that insanely cool Columbia? That dashboard was the coolest thing I've seen in a while. I think Huffman/Huffy, Colson, Murray/Elgin, Snyder and CWC have all made Firestone badged bikes.

Memory Lane Finds - 2 Firestones

Swapped out the bars, added some accessories. Now it is set. Probably find a nicer set of wheels someday....but I am happy.

Memory Lane Finds - 2 Firestones

Good catch Doug. Looks like I'll need to replace the struts or get a springer.

Memory Lane Finds - 2 Firestones

Could be with the flat parts on the strut. I know the "Cruiser" did come without a springer. I'll slap a wheel on and see. I am guessing with the curve of the fork blades compared to the straight legs on the springer, it shouldn't line up with a wheel in it.

Memory Lane Finds - 2 Firestones

Found some decent stuff up at Memory Lane today. Jason (jpromo) found a pretty awesome Columbia. First up is a 40/41 Murray built Firestone Pilot. Wheels have a good bit of paint loss, but all in all it is pretty cool and complete. I am up to FIVE Firestones now. Guess that makes me a collector...

What did I just buy?? Serial added

Really nice. I had a rusty 20's Elgin with 28" wheels. I put 700 wheels and made a nice rider

    Firestone Muscle

Figured I would start on my 1966 Firestone GTO. Ads and pictures of the 60's Firestone muscle bikes are few and far between. I've been doing a good bit of research. I've seen '66 Huffy ads and '66 Huffy built Monark ads. Both seemed to have the more traditional banana/polo style Persons...

Rat Rod Show Ann Arbor Bike show 4-27-2014

Anyone know the hours on the rat show? What time is check in and when the bikes can be picked up? I had "sold" Grumpy from RRBBO7 and was holding it for a local guy till the holidays. Well, the time came and he just couldn't swing it. Honestly, I can't say I am too upset over it! Anyway, it's...

    1966 Firestone muscle bikes

Thanks guys... Scott...I'll probably hit you up for some info on parts sources. I need to tear it down and start cleaning it up to see what I can save. Besides a seat, sissy bar and grips, I am pretty sure I'll need a read fender and front tire.

    1966 Firestone muscle bikes

It isn't much and I have never been much into muscle bikes, but this one really caught my eye. I have a thing for anything Firestone and it is a 1966 model like me! Not to mention I got it from Jeff (Simpleman) who just lives a couple of towns over. Awesome guy to deal with. My plan is to...

    Get-A-Grip March 22, 2014 Cleveland TN.

Decided to bring my grandson along. Going to stop in the Smokies Friday. Probably can't chase him and sell stuff, so we're just bringing our matching green schwinns and looking for cool stuff. Be sure to say hey!

    Get-A-Grip March 22, 2014 Cleveland TN.

Probably going to bring Grumpy along from RRBBO7 and a bunch of parts to sell. I might bring the grandson along. I promise he could win the slow drags on his Lil Tiger. Training wheels make all the difference!

Road trip time. I will be there. Leaning towards keeping it simple and just bringing a bike to show but I might be up for a vendor space. Sounds like a good cause
