got my bendix 70 all ready for hot rodding. by the looks of the last pic, ive got a touch more bench grinding to do. now this has got me wondering if i sould hot rod my bottom bracket...

    (ORBO) KLUNK THIS! IS FINISHED

good too see that this can be done on the bendix 70, might try this on mine. i've got a bunch of old bearings.

i cut up some cardboard for some rough templates to beef up the rear end of the frame. my hope is this will be enough to keep it from bending. now i just have to figure out how to clean up my saw marks...no grinder..

got in a short ride. 45 today in omaha, melting some ice on the sidewalks. rake will take some getting used too. but i am happy with the ride overall. feels like a bmx to me.

    Craigslist nightmares and dreams...

i cant even sell a mens model english 3-speed for that much, here in omaha, might be a different story where you live. it depends on if YOU like it. if so, then its worth it.

they would fit. thats the plan. no welder, but i may have to outsource. either tubes or a plate on both sides.

got ol' porky rideable, just to much ice on the ground to get a proper ride in. only problem i can see is that the bottom bracket is so high off the ground, i had to lift up the seat way high. like getting on a semi:21:. now to figure out how to brace the rear end up...dont want to bend it...

i thought about going that route, but i like the 26" in back. i am, however, going to have to find some straight forks, the curved ones just dont look right to me.

did an early mock-up, just to look at the stance. i think the rake will be fine. gonna use the bars and neck. they are from a 90's royce union freestyle bike. i have the matching crank and seatpost clamp. may use the seat and post also, well see... old s-7 rims, prob wont use them, hard to find...

    (orbo) klunk-fast

i think i can make the 26" fit! it will be tight, and it will look kinda funny:rofl:, but i think it will work. i may just do top and bottom plates, drilled thru, up closer to the seat, will see...

unfortunately, they welded them together. i am going to shave about a quarter inch off of the bottom of the steer tube so my forks will fit.

ok. i will figure something out. they have to come out regardless. thx falstaff

well i found some schwinn forks that will barely fit, might have to find smaller cups to get the crown nut on. and a quick question: if i cut out the cross braces, will i have to put some back in more towards the seat tube? will it still be structurally sound without them? thx for any input!
