*Silent Assassin* - Rear Fender Added

I really appreciate the positive feedback! I plan on painting the hubs matte black to match the rims. The acorn nuts however will remain as is. I also intend on making the dropout extensions the same color but remain undecided on the color choice? In all likelihood, I will utilize the chain...

*Silent Assassin* - Rear Fender Added

Here are some minor updates with most of the changes being made to the front end of the bike. Before: After: Finally I was able to place hubcaps on the front wheel and had to make very slight adjustments to the dropouts to account for them. Here's a closer view of the hubcaps: I also...

*Silent Assassin* - Rear Fender Added

Man, you sure know what to say :D! I will be more than happy when that day finally arrives! I believe I've resolved the issue with hupcap placement on the front wheel and can begin to gradually shift my focus back to the chain, crank, and sprocket. Updates will be posted tomorrow afternoon.

*Silent Assassin* - Rear Fender Added

I truly appreciate the compliment. I really would've loved to utilize the 3-inch wide 144 spoke wheels, but they were simply out of my price range. The regular width 144 spokes is a conventional look on most lowriders, so I opted for a 36-spoke wheel with some reasonable width (about 2.25...

*Silent Assassin* - Rear Fender Added

Thanks a lot fellas! I appreciate the support! This build has been quite a challenge, and I know it's been a while since I've posted any updates. Even with my job keeping me busy, I've found some time (believe it or not) to work on the bike. I'm ironing out some minor kinks with the dropouts...

*Silent Assassin* - Rear Fender Added

I just took a measurement from the ground to about the middle of the bottom bracket shell. The number was approximately 7.5 inches but slightly over 7 inches from the base of the BB shell to the ground. So, I'm looking at using a crank set in which the arms are between 4.5 to 5.5 inches in...

*Silent Assassin* - Rear Fender Added

Thanks a lot, and BTW Southern Flyer is one, very cool looking bike! I was not surprised at all by how well it did in the build off  ! But you're right about the BB, and I'm very concerned about having the ground clearance needed to ride this bad boy around the neighborhood. It's funny...

*Silent Assassin* - Rear Fender Added

I appreciate the love and actually have a few more photos to post! Now onto the non-drive side hubcap: As you can see, this hubcap is mounted to a Bondo putty spreader. A hole was also drilled in the middle of the spreader in order to be mounted to the axle. Last but not least, here's...

*Silent Assassin* - Rear Fender Added

Remember the color of the double springer fork...? Gone! Now onto the biggest development so far in this build...the addition of hubcaps to the rear wheel. It was quite a challenge but I think I may have pulled it off. I will explain how with more photos. Let's start with the drive side...

*Silent Assassin* - Rear Fender Added

It's amazing how I couldn't find any time to work on Silent Assassin during the home stretch of BO8, but suddenly I've managed to squeeze in moments here and there after BO8 to make some progress on this build. Finally, I got some updated photos to post. So, here it goes! The most...

*Silent Assassin* - Rear Fender Added

Thanks Kingfish! I made adjustments to the placement of the rear fender, and I'm very pleased with the end result. Unfortunately, I began working on the bike a couple of hours after getting off the clock at my job, and it was pretty much sunset by the time I finished. Hopefully, things will...

*Silent Assassin* - Rear Fender Added

Well it looks like I was finally able to place the hubcaps at their desired location on the rear wheel with a good relationship to the chainstays. Further adjustments are necessary to the rear fender, but I have a few ideas on how to pull it off with little or no problems at all. Hopefully...

    VOTE HERE! - TRADITIONAL

Since I've noticed more voters are in a sharing mood, I figured I'd unveil the builds that I voted for in no particular order: Firewing Full View Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez There also were a few other builds that if allowed I would've voted for them as well: Southern Flyer...

*Silent Assassin* - Rear Fender Added

I'm still ironing out the kinks regarding the placement of the hubcaps on the rear wheel in relationship to the chainstays. I'm definitely several steps closer toward the finish line, and I'm very encouraged by the progress made. Luckily, I'm off work tomorrow and will have a great deal of...

    VOTE HERE! - ANYTHING GOES!

Just placed my votes. Again, there were about 5 or 6 builds I wanted to vote for but had to settle on 3. Very tough decisions to make this year!

    VOTE HERE! - TRADITIONAL

Voting was a little bit harder than expected. One vote I was 100% sure about while mulling over the other two (honestly, I wanted to vote for at least five builds ). Nonetheless, I've submitted my votes and looking forward to seeing a photo finish down the home stretch!

I'm glad that even with your busy schedule that you were able to get the bike done. I must add that it's a very cool build with great subtleties in the details and should do quite well in this competition!
