    so easy off brand heavy duty oven cleaner works. one wheel I had already sanded on a bit and one was not. sprayed both and the one that had been sanded the coating came 99% off. the unsanded wheel got really clean but no coating was removed. I scuffed it with a red 3m scotch brite pad and...

    dont know if it's clear or annodizing, but Ill give the oven cleaner a shot. never had good luck with the dollar store stuff, so Ill try name brand this time.

    even down to 180 grit it's taking fffoooorrreeeevvveeerrrr! there must be some nasty chemical that will speed this up

    Ive got a couple of araya alloy rims that need refinishing, but sanding off the coating is not working very well. what will take the coating off? tarnishing the aluminum is not a huge deal as I can sand and polish it out. Thanks, SP

    shimano 333 vs 3cc?

    Does anyone know if the shift indexing is the same between the 333 and 3cc hubs? the 3cc I have is indexed on the shift rod actuator on the hub (only time I've ever seen this setup) and I really want to use a 333 grip shifter with it, using a 333 actuator. At the moment I can't find a 333...

    Re: Rat Salad - 6/30 - paint down, ready for clear just dumped about 3/4 can of clear on it, 5-6 cans for the whole bike is a bit conservative. It might be double that. It's starting to seem a bit silly.
