    3-spoke steel bmx rims?

They're off of a Wal-Mart Mongoose from a couple years ago... Heavy as can be too... Still cool for a custom bike...

Schwinn peeps.. Is this a steal?

Yes, that's the 95' Deluxe Cruiser with the anniversary decals on it. (All the 1995 bikes had that decal) I think they were $499 when new. That one looks clean and complete. Not really a steal at two bills but not a bad price either. If you like it, you can't go wrong.

    ~Stretched out DX ~

Build a custom extended rear rack, add some newspaper bags or baskets and have a killer cargo bike.

A few fresh finds bikes & fall cleaning / sorting.

Rollfast tandem? The Wacky Wheels are a nice touch!

    Earl Grey

Thanks King! Yeah, I've been riding this thing all over the place. It's rock solid and super comfy... The big Z Max tires are slow on the streets but I love the way they buzz on the asphalt!

    HellCamino

Love the chunky look of this bike. Looks like a lot of fun to ride too...

Let's call this one done! Not sure what else I could do to it. I accomplished all my goals which were to do a simple, inexpensive build, use parts from my stash and not buy a single thing for it, and end up with a decent rider with a classic "bomber" look & feel to it. The bike worked nearly...

Last addition was a prism tape chainstay protector. Old trick I used for bikes with chipped up stays. Hides scratches and chips from the chain on old bikes and protects the paint on new ones.

So, this thing has been done for weeks now and I realized I never took any more pictures of the complete bike. It just gets ridden, put away and forgotten about... Added a Lezyne taillight to it so I don't get hit in the dark. It has a nice industrial look too... Cockpit view...

So, after several other projects getting in the way and sucking up all my time, I managed to make this thing into something that resembles a bike... They layout is about perfect and the bike really rides nice. Probably doesn't need anything else but there are still a few tweaks I want...

Cap Screws For Piston Stem ?

www.use-enco.com or www.boltdepot.com have a nice selection of hardware. Prices are good if you buy quantity too. Like you mentioned, you have to watch the head size with stem bolts.

    Columbia Convertible Commuter *FINISHED*

MRX Comps are hard to beat for value. They work fine, index with most Shimano systems, and come with grips and cables. All this for like, $20! Like buying the grips and cables and getting the shifters for free...

    Mrs. Edsel (Done)

The headbadge shaped like the Edsel grille is a nice touch! :41:

    Columbia Convertible Commuter *FINISHED*

We used to carry the Cannondale Adventure bikes with the Dual Drive at the shop. They were easy to set up and seemed to work well. Many years back, I built a klunker with a Sachs 3x7 hub (the precursor to the Dual Drive) and left the triple on the front giving the bike 63 speeds. The thing...

    Secrets of the Masters

One of my favorites from these forums. I liked it so much I stole the idea and used it on my first rat build...

    EvansColson Special Commander (Got Evans?)

Maybe if the stem was painted the same color as the frame it would look more in place.

    Earl Grey

I wanted to enter Earl Grey in this one but the deadline is still pretty far off. I still have lots of parts. I figure I'll have something else fun to work with by the time it gets going. :)...

    Supercharged Gasser

I like the stance too! :cool2: One question... Will there be wheelie bars? :)

    Columbia Convertible Commuter *FINISHED*

Yeah man! I still have my flatland bikes too! RM - use a good quality cable and lined housing and grease it up. Potts modded brakes like the cables good and slippy.

    Columbia Convertible Commuter *FINISHED*

A Potts Mod (hollow) stem bolt for a freestyle bike would let you run the cable straight through the steerer tube and out the bottom. Doesn't look like it would be easy to reverse the brakes you have but a BMX or a 1980's sidepull from a lightweight would be easy enough to switch...
