    Let the Trike builders unite...

Was out of town so got behind. It's hard to work on a bike when it's the one you like riding the most.

    "Chunkpunk" Doneski!

I'm thinking of using some EL wire on my build but have never worked with it. Whats the best way to surface mount it and have it look clean?

I hope so, still negates using a layback post though.

One last weird little bit is that it appears that the seat post is fixed in the tube. Theres no clamp or even a slit in the tube that would indicate that there should be one. Guess I need to make sure the geometry is going to work for me. I was hoping to put a layback post on it but guess not...

Also, I found a metal ribbon on it showing that it was a Newport News Shipbuilding bike in its previous life. The down tube and seat tube are one continuous bent tube with the bottom bracket welded on. More cool weirdness.

Here's the potential new donor frame.

    Paints (good & bad)

Don't use Glitter Blast (Krylon?) for bikes. It ends up being super brittle and flakes off at any impact, even if minor.

So many ideas flying around in my head. We bought a new house in Feb and Im busy laying a new patio so haven't had much time to actually test any of them though. I have an old Stelber women's tank frame that I picked up a while ago that I might test out on it. The rack and fender stays were shot...

As a native one of America's low rider capitals (Albuquerque) this is fantastic.

Larger thant other vintage bikes, smaller than my new bikes. Like a hair under 7/8". Tried mounting a MTB bull horn to hold my twist shifter to it but it was just slightly too small to actually tighten down.

Like it. Needing to lay my seat back some too. Seems to have a weird sized post.

I suppose you could just move the drive side to the other side of the trike and that would work also. Beyond my mechanical abilities though.

Got a pretty good parts list started, none of which are bike parts. Hopefully I can get the garage cleaned out this weekend and carve out a decent sized work space.
