I got brave and welded the drive bushing to the axle. It's the first time I've had my little toy welder turned all the way up. This means I might be able to test ride the trike tomorrow. I won't have brakes, luckily I live on a low spot on the road, so it can't get away from me. I'm VERY curious...

Use an adhesion promoter to get paint to stick to chrome.

Smack the head tube with a hammer a few times, the shock might break it free. If you can get a prybar between the lower cup and fork while smacking the tube, it would help. Or a lever between the fork tubes to try to turn them while hitting the head tube.
