Springer front end fork tube length

It's a lot easier to fit a springer on a bike with a shorter head tube than than it was designed for than the other way around. The easiest solution is putting spacers either above or below. Post some pics, then we can all chime in.

    1948 Columbia Goodyear Marathon

From my perspective the re-manufactured shoulder bolt is the best solution based on function, strength and durability. If someone has different criteria like cost, or "I make it all myself" or OG parts only, then it may not be the best solution for them.

    1948 Columbia Goodyear Marathon

Well spring is here in the great white north, or at least close enough that I can find my way into my garage again. So it's time for me to take one more stab at getting this bike built so I have a rider this year. First off was to fix up the headset. The bike had a badly bent front fork...

Simple Green and Dawn degreaser Beware!

Not strictly true. I checked the MSDS sheet for this product here http://simplegreen.com/pdfs/MSDS_EN-US_AllPurposeCleaner.pdfpurpose. Nothing about bacteia or enzymes. It it does have a small quantity of sodium citrate, also known as citric acid and Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate which is a...

Looks like fun and it's only a few hours away.

    If you were 10...

My first customs involved apes, stretched forks and a banana seat so the original 10 year old me would have to say the rat. The new 10 year old me thinks the black jack is really cool.

    (WBO) fenceliner

It would look great with staggered tire sizes. 26" out back, 24" in front. lace the skip tooth into the 26" wheel If you don't want to lace a new wheel, go 24" all around with a 3" tire out back and a 2.125" or 1.75" tire out front.

    (WBO) Drag Rat

It looks like you're putting the forks together backwards. you have the two fork tubes, the steering tube attached to the bottom plate, and a top plate. In the pictures it looks like you are using the top plate as the bottom plate and and inserting the steering tube upside down. Is this just...

    (WBO2015) 1910 INDIAN Board Track - COMPLETED

I'll be honest, I cried a little when I saw that you cut that frame, but this looks like it is shaping up to be your best build yet. I will be watching.

(WBO) Super - Sonic......1957 Chevy parts....finished, finished,, FINISHED!!!

The wet paper is definitely an interesting low buck trick and I think the results Big Ape got are pretty impressive. The pros use things like frisket film, which is a low tack reusable, stencil film available from art supply stores and online. I have seen it retail for about $25 for 10 sheets...

Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch (MBBO CLASS 1)

If it isn't paint, what is it? Inquiring minds need to know. Or did I miss something earlier in your posts?

(MBBO Class 1) Hot Purple Valiant!! ( done.. ) )

If you're going to put a banana seat and sissy bar on it I'd replace the shock with a solid strut. The sissy bar will connect you backside to the axle of the bike rendering the shock useless when seated. On the plus side, you can replace the shock with any length of strut you want for cheaper...

If you're going class 2 why not add a 15 or 20 degrees of rake to stretch it out?

How to offer/estimate shipping when selling parts?

...and don't forget the cost of packing materials. You can save a lot by reusing old packing material. If you're buying fresh boxes etc it in can get expensive pretty fast. The flat rate boxes sound better and better.

I definitely see the view results button and I haven't voted yet. It works too. I'm running Chrome on Windows 8 if that helps. Correction: I can see it in IE 11 on Windows 8 as well.

I Wish we could do a pick 20. Maybe the 20 I'm not in love with? This voting is going to take way longer than I thought it would.

    Tractorliner

Absolutely, feel free to use it. After all it is derivative of your work. I guess technically some movie company owns the rights to the title and artwork I lifted off of a movie poster so I can't grant you those rights. So don't try to get rich off of it, but enjoy and feel free to repost it. Dave

    Bohemian Rhapsody

Great bike, glad you got it finished. It's got a real flashback to the 60's vibe. Very granola with a touch of the Mamas and the Papas and Timothy Leary.

    "Bull ....." is finished

I'm blown away by the faux patina. It ties in beautifully with the original paint .
