    Replacement 700c/29er tires

I have 50c brown Retro Rides on my Colson- more chocolate than brown. I would have preferred them in black but they were only available in 55c. I have't ridden them a lot but really like them. They are a very close fit in the frame and fender.

Boy that's the truth as far as coming up with a fix goes! I couldn't upload via FireFox but had no problem using Chrome, so I will use Chrome for that purpose.... the new procedure sure is simple- and appreciated. Fred

    SOLD Old side mount kickstand

Old and heavy but great condition. Works best for 26" wheels but will work for 28"- just leans the bike more. I have the rest of the bracket for mounting and will include it of course $33 shipped.

(Amost) Spring Cleaning Sale: Truss Rod Bracketts and Front Fork Spacers

Dan My local hardware has (solid) steel rods- various diameters in four foot lengths- zinc coated, for less than $5. I used 3/8, but might be tempted to try 5/16th. I used copper battery cable terminal ends to attach to the axle-ground the end of the rods to fit and then soldered. I used the...

    Bottom Bracket Size

So I finally got back to this. I've added a couple of pictures that show the differences. The smaller cup and bearing are from the Flyer, the larger ones are the "standard" size, sorry I don't have calipers to offer an exact measurement. Now I know. I did eventually find a cup that fits, the...

    Bottom Bracket Size

The originals have a different taper to them. There is enough difference that I don't believe I could press them into the frame without damage. The newer standard BB set stuff works just fine with the crank, just can't squeeze the newer cups into the openings in the frame. The crank is your...

    Bottom Bracket Size

The frame diameter is the same, but the cup is curved smaller, if that makes any sense. When I get a chance I'll try to post some pictures.

    Bottom Bracket Size

Thanks guys. Not sure what direction I'm going with this but I will keep you posted. Sounds like no one is aware of any place to purchase a replacement set. Never gave it a thought and have the bike all painted up so I'll need to be careful with the frame. Probably the first one to make this...

    Bottom Bracket Size

My bearings are okay, it's the size-shape of the cups that's the problem. Even though the diameter in the frame is the standard size the typical cup seems too wide to squeeze in, I's afraid to try to force them in.

    Bottom Bracket Size

I need to replace the bottom bracket cups on my 1930's Colson Flyer. I grabbed several from my pile of saved cups and was surprised to discover that none of them fit. The diameter in the frame is the same as the more recent one piece cranks but the bearings are about an 8th of an inch smaller...

    Classic 700 X 45 or 50 Tire Source?

I am looking for black 700 X 45 or 50C tires with a "classic"or retro look for my 1930 Colson Flyer. Niagara has Continental Classics-50's but only has cream or brown. Any other sources, choices out there? Pretty sure 50 is about as wide as I can go. I'm on a budget (cheap)

Girl's Chrome Flightliner and (English)Raynal "President"

Girls Chrome Higgins Flightliner: Chrome is okay not show quality, but nice rider, some rust, bike is mostly complete, lens is missing as are the innards of the light. The rack light is missing as well. Wheels are reasonably true, the tires are virtually new, less than ten miles on them...
