    JC Higgins?

Personally, I would leave this one alone and use it as my Sunday bike and pick up a thrashed one make it into the rat I want to ride everyday. It's a lot more fun and comfortable to have something with little "true"value and a lot more hard work and sentimental value to ride all the time. Plus...

    OH RATS!

Thanks It's a mocha brown (everything is better with coffee) paint over red primer. I will be having ivory accents on the main frame and thought the combo had a classic kind of feel to it.

    OH RATS!

Thanks Uncle Shish, It's a complete restore repaint. The paint was pretty well gone and it isn't a valuable bike so I figured I'd do a complete restore. Pretty happy with it, I added a rear rack and reflectors today. I also put a set of the vinyl hub polishers on it. Looks like a new 1963...

Awesome lines to it, looks really nice. Really loving the curved seat post in with the long sweeping top bar.

Before and after of Buildoffusinteruptus... My daughter is on her way home from studying abroad in Scotland and called me to say she needed her bike done by next Monday for her summer camp job. Done, bring on the RATS!

    OH RATS!

Thanks Falstaff, I think in the spirit of a rat rod, I'll make do with good ol' sanding, wire wheels and strip discs... did I mention I'm cheap..

    OH RATS!

Sooo, how much is typical for a frame sandblasting? All I'm blasting is the frame itself? The guy is telling $50, seems high for grease free and not much rust... What kind of luck would I have with a chemical stripper? Thanks for any input

    Rollfast

Rollfast parts roasting by an open fire... Jack Frost nipping at your nose.. Come on you know it, sing along! Just kidding, Rollfasts are near and dear to me and I am loving this build. I am also sooo freaking glad I'm not a yooper, I am so glad our snow is in the past!

    OH RATS!

quick update Well I'm getting a little color on some parts. Still waiting on the sandblasting on the frame. I had the springer torn completely apart and introduced it to the wire wheel and some steel wool. The chainguard had to be straightened then cleaned and scuffed for primer and paint. This...

    OH RATS!

Yeah, I've noticed there's a bunch of 'liners. Hopefully the designs will be unique enough to out way the similarities. Been busy, bike is tore down. Ready for the sandblaster! I have been beating out a dent in the chain guard and introducing it to the buffer wheel, primer and a coat of paint...

    OH RATS!

This is my 1963 Murray Solar Flite. It shall become Rat On, my minds warped idea of a rat rod! This is my first time participating, hope it turns out something like the creation in my mind's eye! I have picked up a couple of roached Spaceliner parts for it last fall at the Memory Lanes swap. Now...
