25% acetic acid vinegar for paint/rust removal?

What i consider the simplest solution is to create a ¨ vinegar custard¨ made of ordinary vinegar and starch. Get the vinegar to a boil, add starch mixed with vinegar (maize, tapioca, whatever) to create an emulsion.(no-one digs lumpy custard) Do not breath in the fumes from the hot vinegar...

    Elektrik Klunking Men vs. Stem

Picked up a cheapo bmx for parts, and greased it all together: Needs a smaller chainring in the back, not sure if i am gonna paint it or not. Gonna make some changes over time.

    Elektrik Klunking Men vs. Stem

It works the same as a normal stem, the lock bolt puls the wedge up to tighten the stem. Similar as other ¨normal¨ threadless headset converter stems. Just because things are not done the way they are ¨ supposed to be done¨ it does not mean they do not work as intended.

    Elektrik Klunking Men vs. Stem

After contemplating how i was going to attack the stem, i realised there was no need for extensive violence, we could come to a gentleman,s agreement. The stem would loose it,s head, but keep it,s body. Used these parts: Voila, ahead conversion: All i had to do is drill out the hole in the...

    Protect a rusty bike

Just rub it in, and wipe it out, repeat when needed after time. Letting it dry in the sun also helps. Linseed oil basically creates a varnish like used on old oilpaintings, so i suppose it does last.. Century,s..

    Elektrik Klunking Men vs. Stem

Someone offered an Electra cruiser with 26 bmx style fork in exchange for a friendly gift, it came complete with wheels and tires so i guess it, s klunker building time: Only problem is the stuck stem, especially since i really want to use this fork. luckily the stem seems to be pretty far out...

    Flywheel bicycles

The flywheel should be charged by accelerating, not by braking, and maintain it,s momentum while braking or slowing down. As bicycles are constantly slowing down and accelerating, the benefits are larger then from accelerating after a stop alone. Of course there is the added weight to be taken...

    Flywheel bicycles

¨You're only going to want to engage the flywheel to charge it up under braking as that's how it will work. For the drag it would create under pedaling it would really only work for accelerating after a stop¨ I want to engage the flywheel while accelerating after slowing down or braking, so the...

    Flywheel bicycles

You are right about the centrifugal clutch, that,s what i figured after a few hours of studying clutches. The centrifugal clutch will be connected to the axle, and engage the flywheel when it starts rotating, so the axle and flywheel will alternately drive each other. The flywheel itself will be...

    Flywheel bicycles

I have been thinking about building a bicycle with built-in flywheel to conserve kinetic energy. It has been done before quite succesfully. This is a video of the Kers bike: The Raht racer uses a pedal powered flywheel to power an electric engine, they say it can go up to 70mph: This guy does...
