    Lauson Motor Bike

Round #2 for me. I've had this old Lauson engine in the garage a couple of years now and I'm finally getting to do something with it. More photos and updates coming soon.

The brass color is just bad light in the photograph. The pictures of the chain guard above the ones with bracket are more of what the actual color is.

Over the weekend I was able to fabricate a new bracket for my chain guard. The first attempt didn't go so well. The piece that connects to the frame was about 20 degrees off. It hung lower than it was supposed to, so I had to start over. Same with the piece that holds it together. Compound...

I was able to find a chain guard I've been looking for on ebay. The front bracket isn't going to work on my frame so I'm having to fabricate one that will. Here are some before and after shots. I hated to take the original paint off, but I needed it to match the rest of the bike.

After a long weekend of carefully taking apart the the seat, I was able to strip all the old paint off. I am pleased with the end result.

Found me a nice little seat and post on eBay. Are any of you familiar with this type? What is the best way to take the springs loose?

Cool bike. A small no. 32 somewhere would be a nice touch.

I got the wheels from a guy with a hat, dark glasses and long beard. I heard he knows a thing or two about truing them up.

I haven't been able to do much lately, but I did manage to get some work done last weekend. I couldn't decide on the wheels I wanted to use. Here is a shot with chrome wheels I had. The look didn't appeal to me that well, so I decided to strip paint of another set and blue them like the frame...
