Good new and bad news in the tire department. The slick is going to work perfectly for this one but the front tire is so far gone that I can't keep it on the rim. I am now looking for a heavily used but still usable front tire with some character in case anybody has something interesting...
I slapped on some bright purple/magenta paint I had laying around. Went on awful bright but after a second purple coat and a really thinned-out coat of brown, it started to take on the right tone for a base. Now to "rust" it.
.... yeah I pinched the dropout but no big deal.
A couple of weeks ago I stumbled across this piece of junk with one notable part on it (not the handmade custom rack)...
A little rough but I think it will work nicely on the Coug.
I ran into this same issue when I built One Bad AMFer. You may find that even with the lip gone it is still a very tight clearance if any. I eventually wound up setting my derailleur to stop at the 4th gear.
I am late to the party but I am in with this Coast to Coast Rail Cougar 5. The last build off I entered I was unable to finish within the time frame but this time I have a pretty clear vision and most of what I will need on hand.
Got it back from powder and I am happy with the color and how the frame and fork turned out...
Aparently my hammer skills were not as good as I thought they were cause the pc keeps no secrets. The graphic covered most of it up so I will run with it...
Last night I threw a slick on the rear and mocked it up again so I could drill holes for sissy mounts. Unfortunately I ran into a minor SNAFU with brake but I plan to take it to a mechanic buddy for advice and hopefully will still get it to powder today.
In the meantime I will see if...
I have had this project on the back burner while I keeping my eyes peeled for a donor or two but pickings have been slim. I have been able to pile up a few key parts though....
The console is a little rough. I am not going to do much more than clean it as I really don't have the experience...
