    Asado Mechanico

Yep! I'm not known for making them light...;) It's going to get heavier still...

    Asado Mechanico

Made a bolt on sign for the side of the BBQ. Just had dinner with my sign painter who will get the sign tomorrow and try to make magic happen before next Thursday :)

    Another one...The Pie Bike

Couple of shots of the pie safe. I've been scattering posts of the builds I'm working on right now all around. It's because the bikes will form a fleet that will get used at events this summer...so they all kind of go together. There's still enough interesting work to do on this bike to go...

    Another one...The Pie Bike

I posted some of the work from the beginning of this build...just can't remember where? Found this cool old GI camp oven and figured out a way to strap it to an old cycle truck. Fabricated a fresh steel shelf onto the CT frame, a fire box with a door for shoveling in coals, and a rear rack to...

    Asado Mechanico

Thanks Raf...the small chain ring rocks. I really like that cycletruck gearing. There's really no need to change gears on a rig like this, it's all about going super slow, chatting with people etc...this bike has no business being anywhere near a hill...going up or coming down :)

    F° 451

Stay tuned for the 451 build... You've pretty much nailed it though. Not a Workman, going for scratch built, but it will be a trike...and it will be for cookin' ! :)

Bike oven is untested... Might fire it up later :) Anyone in the North Bay (or anywhere..) who wants to ride with us should! Our group is on Facebook, name of group is on the T-shirt above... Last year there was an insane amount of bikes, this year could be five of us...or five hundred ;)

Very spotty work on the 451... I have a couple other builds in front of it in the lineup. Our big bike club event is the town parade next Thursday, and I need to have the Asado Mechanico ready to roll and grill (see the progress over on the build forum...:)) Also, my ladies Pie Bike has been...

    Asado Mechanico

Got a few things done on the Asado today. A wood shelf on the front with a lid over the tool box. I'll do a pan rack underneath opposite the tool box. Putting the motor on the back helped the weight distribution, but the sprocket is extended way out...so I'm putting a small cutting board over...

Born Again Hawthorne - A Rider it is

Dig that patina! Very cool bike!!

Alright, here's the wheel. All welded up and true :) I drilled the holes through to do the other wheel...want to get them made, sandblasted and the tires mounted so that I can figure out how high the rear end if this thing sits. Then I can really take off on the building of this thing! Lots of...

Fitting in the spacers. Tacking it all to the rim. Rims been sanded down to bare metal...probably sand blast the entire wheel when it's done. Want to rust it or do some patina paint. Back to my steam punk roots on this build! Need to do all my welding, then weld in the hub last .. Hoping it...

Starting on the discs. Luke has a great tutorial on this, so I'll just skim.... Tacking both discs together before drilling is the ticket. Keeps it all lined up.

Rassled this tire on awhile back just to make sure it fit...now I had to wrestle it off... Need to get some tire irons before the tubes go in!

Alright. Let's see what I can get done with what's left of the day...:)

Front wheel. Going to use this cool sand tire. 17" rim...probably do the same solid metal discs. May possibly be spokes? Probably not...

Cut these discs, got a layout done for some holes... Going to be a trike, so one wheel will be fixed to the shaft, one will spin free. I think that's how it has to work?? Never built a trike before! The fixed wheel will get built onto this keyed shaft coller and mounted with the pillow blocks.

Wheels first. Got a couple of these meaty 2.15x16 motorcycle rims and tires. Going with Luke's how to on building a solid wheel.
