Ok! Will do!
Exactly how you described your flipped rat trap fork but I’m assuming mines worse as it extends pretty far. I mean as long as you keep both hands on the bars you’re fine lol.
I like the look of the rat trap fork and I’d like to try it extended as I like the look but if it’s no...
I did see that one! Thanks! How do they ride with the lower brackets flipped to extend the fork some? I have a bent springer fork and love the look but don’t love the ride.
The bent springer for on my ‘57 Colombia is too raked for my liking. I’m thinking a rat trap fork might be better? I still want some rake but something a little easier to ride then the bent springer. Anyone have one available? Doesn’t have to be pretty but does have to function. I’m not really...
Nice! I’m the guy above ^ that macncheese mentioned lol.
I tried doing some research on my Hawthorne frame as well and I settled on anywhere from ‘57 to ‘59 but our frames seem pretty similar. I believe the same headbadge but I believe the red is just worn off mine. Also, unless I didn’t look...
Interesting read! Thanks!
I’m actually picking up an unknown year Hawthorne frame from macncheese. Great looking frame so I’m hoping most of my Heavy Duti klunker parts will swap over.
Larger may have been the wrong term. I just feel really cramped on this frame as it must be the geometry of the style of frame. I have two other cruisers, Dyno Deuce and a ‘57 Colombia Newsboy and I fit a lot fetter in that style.
I currently have a klunker with a 2013 Schwinn Heavy Duti frame that I’d like to swap out for a different frame. Looking for larger older 26” frame. The more budget friendly the better And local pick up in jersey would be ideal. Thanks.
So far so good! I feel like it really does help on inclines. I haven’t had any trail use so far except for one mellow trip but I’m definitely liking it
