Just can't pass one by...54 Hornet

A little more digging and I have found that this is a late 54..built Nov. 1st 1954 according to serial number...probably sold as a 1955 model. With a little more cleaning I see that it says Deluxe Hornet on the chain guard which would explain the springer fork...also upon closer inspection I can...

Just can't pass one by...54 Hornet

Even though I have no more room, I just can not stop cruising Craigs List. This one was 10 min. from my house so I had to go take a look. Decent original paint and a springer fork. Wiped some dirt from the chain guard and can see the Hornet name. Took her home for $150 which I think is pretty...

    Shelby Traveler...whats a fair price???

Thanks for the reaffirming comments. I did explain in a nice way what I thought the bike was actually worth and why. I came up with a figure that everyone here seems to agree on. But I never got any response. Hopefully when he sees it does not sell at this price ( he started selling this a...

How to put a vintage tank on a different frame

Re: How to put a vintage tank on a different frame If I were you I would lay the bike on a piece of cardboard and trace the shape of the tank area. Cut out the drawing and trace the shape onto a 2-4 inch thick block of wood that is also high enough. Or you can trace it onto several pieces of...

    Matte Black with Gloss striping

I was going for this effect with my RRB bo 8 the 59 Kolumbia Klunker.. only have spray cans ....painted a flat white then taped off darts and painted red then red flake followed by gloss clear...hit the whole thing with semi gloss clear to hide edges..was pretty happy with results but will...

If just compound did not work...try the compound with some ULTRA FINE steel wool....I sometimes use the steel wool with a little WD40 and that seems to work well...post photos when that bike is done!!!
