    Firestone Super Cruiser

Thanks....I have two sets of red jeweled parade struts that I wanted to use on this bike, but the springer design and length of the rocker bolts made them not work as well, so I went with the winged caps instead.

    Firestone Super Cruiser

Did I get those from you? I cannot remember for the life of me who I got those from. I just remember thinking they just oozed coolness. They were sitting on my nightstand for several months waiting for the right bike! I love vintage artwork/graphics/styling with a fine patina so I never...

    Firestone Super Cruiser

Thanks man....I know what you mean about being out of the budget. I was super happy to find this one at a price I was willing to pay. Mine needed work, but I could tell it was going to clean up well. The one you posted is nice, but I think you could do better for the money. Then again, I am...

    Firestone Super Cruiser

It is the little things....A guy on the CABE sold me a really nice kickstand, so now I don't have to lean the bike on the garage door! If I could find a set of Firestone banded pedals, this would be DONE. That's ok...part of the fun is being on the prowl for the hard to find parts.

    Period correct or functional correct?

Period correct and original have their place. On my '28 Elgin, I pulled the original skiptooth drivetrain and stored it away. The I put some nice deep V 700c wheel on with a standard crank, chain, etc. It is a fantastic riding bike and gets tons of compliments. Bike went from hanging on a wall...

    Firestone Super Cruiser

Hey thanks.....Basically I just stripped the bike completely down and went at the paint with WD40 and a gray ScotchBrite pad. Just let the pad do the work using caution around the decals. Then when I was done, I washed it all down with soap and water, let it sit a day or two and then went after...

    • BAD NEWS • 1953 Western Flyer Newsboy Special

Looks good! 24x3 fit in my frame just fine. The only issue I can think of is that a 24x3 is a smaller outside diameter as the tires you were considering. While they are fatter, they may not fill the fender as well...but no harm in trying.

    Should I buy it?.

Look at the brace on the rear seat stays where the fender attaches. I thought prewar had a straight brace. This is curved. I'm guessing later 40s.

    A Ratoriole Question.

I haven't seen my build in several days. I think it is in the basement.

    Firestone Super Cruiser

I added a few accessories to my Super Cruiser. Saddle bags, rear mudflap and "winged" hubcaps on the front. I need to "age" the bags as they are a bit too bright.
