My brother. The jet noise in the background was the track drier on the drag strip

Wow thanks! There is a flip round cover on each side. One is the charge port, the other is for the main key switch

Just returned from the drag strip. I spent much of the day riding it round. The response I got was amazing! I was called to the start line just before lunch brake to take it down the quarter mile. Unfortunately the car before me crashed. By the time they had cleared the track, it started...

This started life as a Dutch bike. I fitted an electric conversion first, using a 500watt motor in the front wheel and a 16amp/hr battery pack. Bodywork was all hand made from aluminium using traditional methods. The style I was after was a 1930's streamliner/art deco bike. I loved making it...

The funny thing is that when customers come in, they often walk straight past million dollar cars to look at the bike! It was the same when I made the rocket sidecar

A few random shots from this evening. I needed to do a little clearencing around the brake calliper

Oh, and I haven't actually had the bike together completely yet...... I'm hoping it will all go smoothly tomorrow. I am taking quite a few tools to help me, including a large hammer......

A blank canvas I drew all sorts of line on it to see what looked right. I tried all of your suggestions, but actually went right back to an idea I had a few years ago for an "art deco" bike. I needed to make another batch of those threaded plates. Man, they are tiresome to make... Mark...

It's going to be a long night in the workshop! I'm not going home till its finished. Well, except the stand. That will have to wait.

Made a start on left side the front cover. Will it get done in time for the weekend? Will it get done before September 9th? Will it look garbage? Will I have done enough work to pay my bills this month? Exciting isn't it!

Thanks for all your input. The front will be covered. I will only enter if its finished. That's the rules :) I may not be paying my bills this month because I'm spending time on this when I should be working lol

Actually, looking at the pictures, I think it does need the front wheel covered. It will help visually "stretch" the bike. Help it look less "dumpy"

Just taken it for its first run with the bodywork on. Loved it!! I made a couple of flip round covers for the key switch and battery charging point. Just need to make the headlight area and saddle then decide if I'm going to cover the front wheel. I quite like it open. Any thoughts?

That eyeball is awesome! You just need a metal ring with a lip on it as a reflector. Pop round, I'll make you one :)

To be fair, if I could get behind the panel, I would have used nuts and bolts. But there's just no way. I could have bought captive nut plates, but I like making stuff!

Then I made some strips to join the panels together. A strip of 2" wide aluminium was run though the sawger to put a feature "rib" along the middle. One side was rivited to a panel, the other will be fixed with small dome head stainless screws. This will allow for the bike to be dismantled for...
