I've had good luck with using those little LED flashlights that run off of 3 AAA batteries. They've been getting brighter, and with a little work you get the battery pack and the bulb in one package.

I've done it and had no problem.

I have one! It is a 1" headset. I fitted it with 26X3" wheels and tires. It's my "convertible", a good bike to have in the fleet as a loaner.

I know someone sent me a notice recently about a boardtrack style frame/fork/tank combo. I think it was Sutter Bicycles. While I couldn't track down the original, a google search of "Board track racer" turned up a lot of hits...good luck.

I've been routinely running kenda 26x3" tires on regular rims for years on my customs. You have to fill them carefully, but once you get them filled there's no problem.
