I have been looking into this too, I wonder it could be done using a flip flop hub with free wheel on one side and a fixed gear on the other.

I think the designs idea is good but agree the forks don't look right. I believe it is the slope make it look backwards to my eye. Also the angle of the steering parts look off to the steer tube. If you look at the trains they all give visual weight by putting the bottom in front of the top.

I auto clear coated the stripped wheels on my wifes bike. I call it grinder chrome.

I tried a set screw with no luck. Ended up just drilling a hole all the way through in two spots. can be vertical or horizontal. I am sure I will use it as a seat post clamp 90% of the time anyhow.

I also started the fiberglass plug for a tank. I would like an original but they have out priced my desire. I have never done fiberglassing before pretty much the only thing I do these bikes for is to learn something new.

I have a lincoln weld pack 100 because it had the gas available. I am not sure it is any better than the HF but the gas is how you get clean welds. I would also look at the eastwood.

They sell "helicoil" type insert kits at Harbor freight cheap. That should have some type of insert you can do it now or when you have a longer stripped hole.

Looks like oil based paint, I was able to remove a layer of paint without getting the paint under it with the orange stripper. Not leave it on long and wipe it off. The baked factory paint seemed like pretty tough stuff compared to house paint. if it is latex goof off and your done

I think this bike is freaking great. Seems to me more seat would be good even if it is the same seat just back a little bit

those are some nice audio tubes for a project like this if you got those from a radio look for different ones and keep those for when you decide you "need" to build one of those macintosh amps for your self
