(MBBO #4 Class 1) 1968 Huffy Rail Custom

Well it was close but I was able to finish on time. I haven't had a day off from work since Christmas so it was hard to find time to work on the bike. Since I built this bike to ride on the local bike trail I was hoping to take some cool pictures of the bike on the trail. Unfortunately I just...

Wow!!! The deadline is coming up quick! I had my rims relaced at the local bike shop and just picked them up. I have everything I need to complete my build now. Right now I'm polishing up all the chrome pieces. After that it's assembly time!!! Hopefully I will get it all done in time. It's gonna...

1975 Huffy Thunder road and a bad a$$ helmet and early repair stand

That bike looks all original to me. The early Thunder Roads came with the long cranks and pie plate chainguards. Later versions came with full length guards. If you decide to sell it, let me know I might be interested.

I'm working overtime at my job right now so progress on the bike is going a little slow. I should be able to finish on time though. Tonight I made a set of redline pedals. I took a regular set of NOS Excel pedals and using some regular automotive pinstriping I added two thin red stripes to the...

NOS Huffy grips and blue Persons seat. I decided to go with a smoothie seat because I want to ride this bike and I'm afraid the chrome mylar on a striped seat would rub off.

No. It's a 24" fork taken off of an extra Thunder Road bike that I had laying around. The original fork that came on my Rail was bent. Plus I wanted to run a 16" wheel on the front. Slingshot forks are a little tough to come by so I just ended up using the Thunder Road fork instead.

Yes. I just pulled them out before I took the frame to the powdercoaters. I'm replacing them with nicer aluminum caps.

Back from the powdercoaters: I decided to go with powdercoat instead of paint on this bike because I plan to ride this bike on the local trail. The powdercoat is more durable than paint.

This is a bike that I picked up last year at a local swap. This was supposed to be a summer project that I never really got around to doing. I started a new job and it pretty much took up all of my spare time. I did a few modifications and started collecting some parts for it and that's as far...

    Trexlertown 10/2-10/4...3 days

I went there this morning. There were less than ten vendors set up but people were making deals. It didn't really rain too hard but there was a constant drizzle. The local weather report for tomorrow calls for warmer weather with just spotty showers. Hopefully there will be a better turnout...

The Perfect Orange Krate To Hold A Schwinn Orange Krate

Here it is, a groovy 1969 VW Bus painted bright orange and white. Me and my friend dreamed up this bus about 18 years ago. He wanted a vintage VW Bus and I just got into collecting muscle bikes. We found this 1969 bus for sale locally and he bought it. He told me that he was planning on painting...

1976 Sears (Huffy) MX - Minty Fresh - Still In Texas

Very nice bike!!! I like the story behind it too. Back in the seventies there was a kid a couple of blocks away from me who had Downs. His dad bought him a Murray Fire Cat. All of us kids had either MX bikes or hand-me-down banana seat bikes at the time. The muscle bike era had been over for...

    Schwinn canti BMX

That's a 36 tooth Huffy sprocket, used on many of their bikes including the Thunder Road MX bikes. Very cool bike by the way. I did the exact same thing to a coppertone Stingray back in the late seventies when BMX was starting to take off in my area. I bought a Troxel BMX saddle, Wald rat trap...

    Almart German "Muscle" Bike

Almart was actually and American department store chain. We had two of them locally and they both closed sometime in the late 1970's.
