Sorry. I forgot to reply to this about the wheelie bars. I used 7/16 all thread with flat washers and nuts to hold the wheels in the middle then cut the all thread off just enough to put acorn nuts on the outside so it's nice and tight. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Went to my God Fathers funeral today. What a mess. I needed some alone time in the shop. I've been looking for butterfly bars but they are rare and cost a mint. Grabbed 2 sets of bars off the pile and did some slice and dice. Along with a little sizzle sizzle this is what I came up with.

All thread is your friend. thread 3 nuts into the middle of a piece of at least 1/2 all thread. put a large fender washer on the outside of each nut. Put the all thread in the drop outs and thread then nuts out by hand until tight. Then turn each nut a half turn at a time equally to slowly...

glad you didn't mount it to the springer's tension bolt. the minute you unload the weight on the springer it would be loose enough to come loose, spin around, and possibly damage the light or fork

If I had any doubt I would prop up the wheel at a 45 degree angle against the wall and apply a good amount of pressure to the hub to see what it will do. I doubt if there will be a problem if there is some angle in the spokes from the flange to the wheel. Remember that while one spoke is...
