Now it may be 'cause I'm English or have that kind of mind but "getting lipstick on the pig" sounds a bit ....y to me :-)

Okay all, anyone got any ideas on the identity of this. Bought of eBay UK for very little money and in bits but complete. Was listed as Schwinn but I doubt it. All original and not messed with. Not very old either. ??

Fire bolt frame is a beauty, best tyre I've had to date was 26x2.3 Crazy Bob. They look way bigger than they are and have a cool skate park tread block pattern. I'd stick a pair on Indecision if I had a few more readies to spend.

I'm a "less is more" fan and anything I build just sort of evolves until I'm happy with the result! Often take some sort of inspiration from little items or ideas that pop into my head. On my current build two things are not for changing 1, suicide rear brake and two, 34 Ford inspired V8 head...
Lovin this thread, way back we used to go drag some old rusty gents bike out of the dump, strip the rod brakes off, switch to cow horn bars and stick a pair of cheap knobbliest on, oh the memories :-)

Well the bikes not progressed any other than an initial strip down n mock up, which has now been in unmocked up! So here's what it looks like ATM.
Bars wise,

More changes of plan again hence the name change.
Shorty set back seat post coming, not now sure on bar choice 'cause the frames large and the top tubes long n low. Thinking low apes maybe? ideas welcome.
First change of plan! Mock up yesterday and the bars look totally out place, way too small. Found a set of motor X fat bars so gonna try them. Should work at 31 1/2 inches wide :-)

Oh to have leftovers like yours! Over here it's hard enough finding anything but rusted through Gentlemans bicycles!
