Great saves, congrats. I find it hard to believe a bike guy would scrap ANY of those, go figure.... Was at the dump Thursday with my mom, she needed my van ... and saw a set of handlebars poking out of the metal dumpster.. found not one, but a pair of Hercules womans lightweights, 3 speeds...

seat stays are broken off the rear uprights - my own 5 speed has same issue, that I never noticed before purchase, due to only being 'displaced' about 1/2" back and covered up with a cable lock .. my bad. That frame will need welding and a full restore / paint...missing parts. will be...

You painted that, do you have any paint left ? with your skills, should not be too hard to blend in and rub out a spot.

looks about like here.. we rescued a few bikes last week from a snow pile almost identical to that.. all we saw was the bars above the snow.... You need a snow bike to head down the hill :)

Pretty neat ride. I actually passed on one of those a couple years back at an estate auction, I think it sold for about 150-200, but not as much call for one in upstate NY. If you have the 400 to invest, go see it, make a cash in hand offer, you never know.. I always like to look at flip...

Grommets would be accurate terminology. Some ppl use tent / tarp grommets, which have wider flanges and not real 'correct' ( I have those I could send, but you'd have to improvise a tool to install, can't send my crimp tool ). There was a guy on the old MBF forum was repopping the correct...

Neat tires, a little heavy.. those show up on ebay from time to time. They also were used, in black color .. on the Roadmaster ' bling bling (sic) repro bikes in the ? 90s / early 200s.. I have one someplace, buried off one of those bikes.
