First full assembly. Took her out for a test ride - Very smooth. Just waiting for the chain guard to dry, then a couple of tweaks, grips and it's off to the Rock and Roll hall of fame. Nah, those guys suck - (no Warren Zevon?!?!). Maybe I'll take it to Pasadena.

I re-painted the forks the right way: black, tape, white, tape, red, remove tape. I also went with Mongoose handlebars instead of the cruisers. I painted the front wheel red and put the tire on. I think it looks pretty good. As soon as the back wheel is done it'll be time to assemble...

I’m done so I really have no say in it but I was flip flopping between the two choices and picked the later. BUT my vote put it to 6-4 later date which means if I had gone the other way it would have been 5-5. So maybe split the difference and pick mid February.

I love the guitar accessory ideas but... all my guitar stuff is in use! I’ve got tons of spare bike parts lying around but no extra guitar parts. I’ll start looking into it...

A real American hero. I just showed my teenaged son The Right Stuff, and then started reading the book myself, both are fantastic. What those guys did back then was as fearless and daring as anything humans have every done.

Got a new seat and new grips and repurposed a front and back wheel from the pile. The plan is to paint the rims red and put whitewalls on. I still need to repaint the forks but after all the nonsense with the frame, I'm actively avoiding it.

Ha! It's a single speed but that's not a deal breaker. Eddie had stuff on the guitar that was non functional on purpose. So maybe...

I pulled off the tape, and it was clear how my black-white mistake manifested.. there was no black “X” Sooo, I tapped off the surrounding areas leaving the “X” exposed and just painted that part black. Finally!! With the frame painted, it’s now on to actually BUILDING the bike!

Thanks. I knew I wasn’t going to use a break and didn’t want to leave those posts just sitting there. My first thought was propellers. But they would have had to be really small to clear the tire. I was very fortunate that those little lights fit perfectly.

I watched a couple YouTube videos and here’s what I got as a result. Cut, glued and clamped the heck out of it. And it turned out OK. I couldn’t get out all the wrinkles but for a first ever re-cover I’m pretty happy. Much better than the tape pattern. Also, I’m pretty much done. Anything else...
