    New Departure Model D Rebuild

Make sure the bearing aren't too loose or too tight. What did you use to lubricate the brake discs? I always buff both sides of all the discs with some 1500 grit wet/dry with a little oil.

    Finding pictures of logo's

You may try taking your guard and the other pics into a sign shop that does vinyl decals. The shop I use is really good at recreating graphics from examples like yours. You can have them make the actual graphic decals or keep the negative space and use it as a stencil.

    '76 Varsity Commuter-Ready to ride

I pulled that one out of an old farmer's scrap pit. It had been his bike when he was young. One of his brother's added the banana seat after the farmer was sent to Vietnam in the 60s. It had been in the scrap pit since the mid 70s. About 10 years ago a pasture fire got out of control and got...

    Your BEST Restoration!!

I have only done one restoration and I will not be doing another one. 1934 Rollfast Ballooner. It only lived complete for about two weeks before I parted it out and sold off a bunch of parts, others were used on other bikes and the frame set is on display in the living room. Before After

Re: '76 Varsity Commuter Got some better pics this morning. It was a brisk 15° when I was taking them so I didn't take more. I would like to find some decent panniers for a good price. The aluminum brakes shined up nice. "Valley Cyclery, Auburn Wash" The bike and most of the parts...

Re: '76 Varsity Commuter My red wall tires and bar wrap came in today.I got out in the garage and got everything installed on the bike. It is ready to ride as soon as the 14" of snow melts off. I have also polished the original aluminum brakes and reinstalled them. They are connected to the...

    Musselman hub question

You need a #23 bearing. If you can't find one you can replace it with loose bearings. Just use the same diameter balls and fill the cup minus one ball. Here is a link to a list I found of bearing IDs. http://www.fattiretrading.com/bearings.html

    3 cross lacing

I trued it myself in my homemade truing stand. It isn't perfect, but it isn't far off. I am sure a more experianced wheelman can hit perfection with little effort.
