thanks metalchewy, the crank is now in and the chain aligned. Then I put the fork on a realized I grabbed a 24 inch by mistake. I now have a correct size fork and the handle bar on. Next will be the brakes. I think I will paint it with a brush, spraying dose not work here in the winter. Now I...

Matti you are right about the moose bars, there is no adjustment on them. I like the top set of bars, I have no idea what they came off of, I have had them for years. I am going to put on of my other projects on hold and get started on this one soon. Thanks

    ORBO LEFTOVERS

Hi, this years build will be made from parts that are just lying around, the left overs. I am going to start with a Murray cantilever frame and add parts as I go. I can not paint in the winter so it probably will not be pretty. I have a few projects to finish so I will be a slow starter. Here...

Old build off bike finally finished

I started this bike in a muscle bike build off a few years ago. It started as a Specialized monocoque bmx, a hemi I think. Anyway here it is better late than never. The

Slow week this week, but I got a few things done. My seat post was 27.2 mm and the bike requires a 26.6, so I go over to my buddies and he turns it down on his lathe. My buddy is very old school he even makes his own belts for his lathe. the seat post works great. Then i painted fork parts and...

Great name Howie. The frame and fork look good. Let us know how it rides.

It is a tank, I do not understand why these frames were made. On average they weigh 1 1/2 pounds more than a regular aluminum bmx racing frame. I have a Norco RPM that is monocoque and it is over 2 pound’s heavier. That is a lot more weight to drag around the track. Most of the extra weight is...

This week was a lot of sanding, I got it far enough to spray primer. It has been hard to be in the shop with the weather so nice. Today I sprayed the primer outside, you can not do this most years in Canada on October 23rd. The frame is in good shape it will only need a little finishing putty...

    Mixed up Mixte

Go for it Howie,it is early in the game. If you wreck this frame, i will find you something else to build.( if you do not have anymore frams😀). Looking good

    Outcast

I have one of those cranks, every time I think of using it, it just turns out to be a bad idea. Like Sheldon Brown said “it was a solution looking for a problem”. Great start to your buiild, have fun

The collars were 1 1/8 stem spacers. The steer tube on this bike is a little wider than most. The 1966 Pontiac sign was a Windshield card from a car show when I had a 1966 Pontiac. They made the mistake of letting me fill it out myself😀.

    WHEEEEEELIE

It’s been a good week. I have got some more work done. I stripped the decals off. Then I had to find away to put the sissy bar on as the axle is to short to attach the sissy bar. the shape of the rear stays prevent (they are to wide) the sissy bar From going on so I added bolts to the front of...

Here it is with the springer, more tape and gum. I am thinking the last picture. I like rams horn bars but the other ones are giving it a different vibe. What ya think?

    WHEEEEEELIE

I think I will need 2 seat settings. 1 for riding and 1 for pictures. I like the tall bars with the tall sissy and the rams horn with the short sissy. I have been thinking heavy metal flake for the paint also. Maybe a silver base with color accent. I have just found a 20 inch springer in my...
