    BO15 Poor Man’s Racycle

Did this today before work. Also finished the brackets for the fenders. I will do some adjustments to it later. It is about time for a quick ride and tear it apart to paint. I am not convinced of the proper color choice yet so it will be off the shelf spray can. If I decide on a color I can...

    Paint advice

I have done this on several bikes. I have not got hardener in the paint but the clear coat had hardener and was in an aerosol can. However when I go this route I plan on spending at least $100. Not cheap but the paint lasts. Disappointing to do all the work to have chipped up paint from...

    BO15 Poor Man’s Racycle

Started the wheelie bar! Just kidding, I’m installing curb feelers. actually I got the front fender on. The top bracket is temporary. I may flip it around to hide it under the fork, use it to mount a headlight or somehow make it decorative. It depends on how much material is left after the...

    BO15 Poor Man’s Racycle

This past winter I bought a box of random bike parts. I saw this seat and thought I would never use it. I forgot about it until I found it in the barn.

I carried the Spaceliner frame back to the barn. Went to Home Depot for some supplies to mount the chain guard. Will probably stare at it a day or two and decide to pull it off. Initially I am not liking it.

    BO15 Poor Man’s Racycle

I put a few miles on it as it is and it is a fun bike. Didn’t mention before it’s a two speed. I want to come up with more than throw a couple parts on and call it done. That was the problem with the Spaceliner. I just wasn’t coming up with more.

    BO15 Poor Man’s Racycle

After kingfish254 asked what was going on yesterday I wandered out to the garage messed around for awhile trying to come up with an idea for the tank. As I sat there staring at my latest idea in cardboard trying to convince myself I like it my mind wandered to my $5 Schwinn Traveler. So I...

    BO15 Poor Man’s Racycle

2020 has not been very cooperative with me and this project has not got out of the “arts and crafts” phase. I have played around with the idea of making a metal tank and made a minimal investment on an english wheel but this has been a low priority.

It rides horrible this way. I didn’t realize what was wrong until I compared it to my other Spaceliners

    BO15 Poor Man’s Racycle

Last year I started my bike for this in the middle of a kitchen remodel. This year I started this bike and shortly after I decided that after 13 years it’s time to finish the drywall in the garage. So everything’s out to the barn for now. Hopefully in a week I can be finished up, have the...

    BO15 Poor Man’s Racycle

My first choice for a chain guard is a fail. I don’t see how it will fit and look good. Time to look for the next option. Last choice the original will fit with minimal effort. I sacrificed a chrome Worksman chain guard to see how Rustoleum Lens tint would work on the frame. I am not sure...

    BO15 Poor Man’s Racycle

I honestly grabbed the first thing I found just to see it together and figured I would grab the proper later. It’s a 200 foot walk to the barn where the spare parts are at, a lot of effort.

Crank washer, I guess that would have been a better choice. However one washer from head tube was enough. Look cool first, safety second.

Did some test fitting today. Don’t you hate it when your project looks really cool but just doesn’t work. It took a few tries but it clears now.

    BO15 Poor Man’s Racycle

Check it out another girls Spaceliner. I have four of them in pieces on the top shelf in the barn. I might as well use one. I am going back and forth between using the chrome or painted frame. Officially the painted one is an AMC. I bought a couple years ago at auction as a complete bike and...

    Woody

http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/index.php?threads/woody.108733/it’s officially done. I took it for a ride today and it’s fast (downhill). This is one of those bikes that may never be done. I wanted headlights in the fenders but I still have not found any with the proper look. It may need...

I’m a few links short. I don’t believe the power of a zip tie will be enough. I ordered both the chain and a seat post from Worksman. Neither fit the bike.
