Pay no attention to the seat post, it meets all federal safety standards set for rat rod bikes.

Once you get the first scratch you don’t have to worry about it anymore.

This happened today. I got the fenders mounted and the framing done. I started on a bumper. I will probably pull this fender off later to fix this. I need to find a seat post and get the mirror.

I only put 4 bolts in today but the box is officially connected to the bike. I started work way too early and stayed way too late to get much else done. I am hoping to get fenders mounted tomorrow.

Got the handlebars done today. This is plan C. Plan A was much more beautiful but overall I don’t think it would last.plan B was much more structurally sound but could not get it to work with what has already been done. Found out the seat post I ordered from Worksman doesn’t fit and am now...

Only been working on it for an hour or two at a time. The seat came last night, not happy it was made in Taiwan. Got paint on the fenders and some more of the frame on today. I need to decide how to finish the top front corner and mirror placement.

Don’t know yet. I was planning on building something from near the top of the box but I am not sure if it will be sturdy enough. I may end up using the original since I should be able to bolt it to the frame.

Got three coats of red chestnut and one coat of spar urethane on one side of the birch. Still a little tacky this morning so I will let it sit and focus on getting the natural stain on the pine. I couldn’t resist the urge to set the piece in to see all the colors together.

Framing is going on both sides. I am going to stain it before I put it on.

Only got to work on it about an hour after work. It’s time to stain and then put it together. I made it 2 inches shorter by mistake. Probably should have made a bigger mistake.

Between mowing the grass and car shopping for my 16 year old daughter (feeling old in a new way) I got some more done. I have to rethink how to do the front panel. I made it once and realized it is not how I thought it would turn out. I am surprised I made it this far on the woodwork before...

Started fitting some parts together just to see how it looks. I should have a 4 day weekend this weekend. Maybe I will get something done.

I primered the fenders today and realized they need some more work before paint. I did a bunch of cleaning. I was planning on painting the wheels to match but after a quick cleaning of the chrome I am having second thoughts. I also changed my mind on the wood and now thinking about pecan...
