Out of my NOS Bendix kickback hubs I've had the red (disc) hub stops better than the yellow (shoe) hub did. Its easier to tear the shoe hubs down and repack them though which I think would of made assembly/production easier/cheaper too.

I love the looks of the frame/fork, can build a few bikes for the price tag on that one!! Still cool to see what places are popping out though :)

The shorter top tube makes me think it might be a knock off but there are plenty of bikes I still haven't seen before out there. The other parts could have been scavenged to build that one up but they look like pretty lower level stuff to me too.

The top tube length looks a lot shorter than the haro, the front gusset doesnt look to be welded the entire length either like I'm used to seeing on those too.

They're not too complicated to take apart if you're careful. I know I've had one a part so far I could set the numbers wherever I wanted them to be without having to roll them back 1 number at a time, but it's been too long to describe it from memory lol

The schwinn forks and most knock offs you can but they stiffen the fork up. On some of the other brands they are welded on near the axle like on the Raleigh PUB bike and the Dyno/Kustom Kruisers with the aluminum springers.

Dont happen to know the height on the Ingo bike / scoots would you Kota?

I'm pretty sure I'm running a cheap threadless origin 8 or maybe cane creek 1-1/8 headset on mine. I know the dropouts changed around on those frames, guess its not the only thing they changed around.

Even with the age/wear on it that campus green should shine just fine washed down and waxed. I would roll with it ;)

Had a couple attempts with some fabric for the basket using local suppliers, just wasn't happy with the way it turned out. Ended up ordering some red canvas online that just came in today but wont likely have anything to show before the deadline. Will be moving this to the normal builds section...

Agree with Luke, nice set-up. Those old bike shop clamps are the best too ! Was it a Var clamp by chance ?

On Schwinn stuff. It's not uncommon to find bikes as early as Sept that will have other parts stamped with the next years digits on them. Kind of like cars in a way, next years stuff is already here. Im sure most companies wanted to have their "new" bikes in stores before Christmas.

Surly was one of the earlier brands to push the fat tire stuff, 26x almost 4" stuff, doesnt surprise me they have extra room :)

That takes me back to high school, loved the notchbacks myself :cool:

I wonder how much you could play with the "gearing" just by playing with the tire size :D
