    Front drum brakes

Thanks for the input. Kinda low on funds right now & trying to put this thing together on the cheap. I'll pick one up when finances permit. Gonna be so cool & functional too. 8)

    Front drum brakes

So, I'm thinking of installing a front drum brake on my current build. I found a couple on fleabay for a decent price. Is it worth it besides looking pretty darn cool? Would the install be straight forward? Or am I missing something? Thanks for the help guys. Has anyone used this one...

    Couple of SoCal picks

Not sure, because now my girl wants one. She already has 4 bikes! I'll go through them both & let her decide. Maybe my chick will lose interest in these now that she's about to pick up a Jet Flow 8)

    Rat Del Sol build

So, I guess it's about time for an update. It has been over a month afterall  . I've been collecting parts & doing a lot of reading the past few weeks getting ideas. Instead of sending the bike out for blasting & coating, I decided to sand it down & rattle-can it for now until I get all...

    Couple of SoCal picks

Picked these up this week. Might fix one up for my sis & use the other for parts to get my girl's 4bar on the road. Not exactly sure what they are, but I'm guessing 40's. Red/Blue is a Huffman/Dayton & green one a Roadmaster...

    1930's Dayton

Thanks for the info guys. I picked it up, along with a Roadmaster. I initially got this for my Sis, but now she doesn't want it. I hate to tear this apart, but I might just use parts to build up the 4bar I'm putting together for my GF.

    1930's Dayton

Came across this bike while looking for a bike for my sis. Says its a 1930's Dayton. I'm not familiar with these at all, so I'm wondering if it looks pretty original. The one thing that really stands out is the springer front end. Is this something some one made? Or is this somehow original...

    Big guy bike

Very nice rides everyone! I'm just not feeling the stretch bikes. Maybe slightly stretching a regular frame might work for me though.

What model Schwinn is this? #2!

Still thinking of getting this for a future project. As for the 10yr old I've been trying to find a bike for, ended up breaking down & getting a new Huffy 24" Cranbrook. Found it for $80 at a local closeout warehouse.

What model Schwinn is this? #2!

OOps. Sorry. Guess I didn't mention it is indeed a 26". I am looking for a bike for a 10yr old though, and happen to check this one out. I'm wondering if it would be a good fit. I'm still trying to figure out bike sizing. I know a 24" would work great for him, but I can't seem to find too many...

What model Schwinn is this? #2!

I think I'm gonna go check it out again today after work before it gets dark. I couldn't really get a good look at it. If it's not too bad, I'll make him an offer. Looks like it might just be a bunch of parts thrown together, and not in a particularly cool combo. I do dig the frame tho. I'm...

What model Schwinn is this? #2!

Oh. Yeah, I get a little confused on the whole JC Higgins thing. My Dad explained it to me once. So, anyone think it might be worth getting for the frame? Not sure what wheels it has, but it has an older Bendix rear hub. I think the crankset, stem & bar are aftermarket. Springer is probably a...

What model Schwinn is this? #2!

Chimichanga pointed me in the right direction by suggesting it may be a J.C. Higgins. Looks like it might be. Was a really nice bike...

What model Schwinn is this? #2!

Well, then it must be a Schwinn bike, right?? I guess some people think that if it's an old bike, it's a Schwinn. It not being a Schwinn doesn't bother me at all. It'd be nice if it was something pretty old though. Not a bad looking frame. Any idea what year it might be? So it might be a...

What model Schwinn is this? #2!

Thank you all for being so helpful & understanding. It's hard being passionate about something, but not knowing much about it! Main thing is that I don't want to be "taken" by some one who may want to sell me something "rare" and "unique" that may just be something very common. I ran into this...
