It makes a very comfortable riding bike, especially with high handle bars. My wife really likes hers & I like riding it. I'm selling one as a complete but would consider breaking it down to F&F. it's at the bottom of page 15 of this thread, message me if interested.

I considered making an offer for it to part out, as I really want a rear drum brake. Just like many bikes, the sum of the parts is greater than the value of the complete bike. I'm sure he's gotten a few low ball offers already. The color could be better, black seems to be much more universally...

If my Worksman had been set up like this one when I was his age, I would have been the man!

    "Sparky" - Early '80s Worksman (Re)Build

Almost finished - Took a maiden voyage, a fast run late yesterday through the state park main trail near my home. The bike did great until the last stretch. The circlip that holds the rear chain wheel on popped off and let the chain wheel off onto the axle. With no tools I walked the final...

    The Boss stable of Emorys

Sweet, I have a near identical blue frame & fork as the one in the first pic. Strange as I also have a "no-bar" Emory. Mine has a curvy downtube though, and yours appears straight.

I agree, I did not like it at first. I use J&J Powdercoating across from the Castleton neighborhood off London Bridge Rd. in VA Beach. Jim & Jill will take good care of you, tell them I sent you if you go by there.

    "Sparky" - Early '80s Worksman (Re)Build

Almost there! Need to find some decent red & grey/silver cable ties, and rig chain and shifter. I also have my eyes on a different seat post & some pedals. Can't wait to make this one my daily rider.

    "Sparky" - Early '80s Worksman (Re)Build

Finally some time to get back at it and I am getting close. Had to work some magic to get the front drum to work with the BMX style fork. Always wondered what those decreasing circumference holes going up the drop-outs were for: "Backwards" flag decal puts chain guard in proper "stars lead...

    Early Emory?

Interesting, this bike the first numbers are 74. Sadly it's missing the headbadge. The forks are the tube BMX style. Upon disassembly, found both the frame & forks were the same original color.

    Early Emory?

Very nice! I like that you kept the plate. I just picked up the same F/F. Broke it down tonight and I really like the frame. Considering stripping and powdering it.

    Early Emory?

Did you ever do anything with this one? I just came across the same bike, but in worse shape. Thanks, -Mark
