    Me and Paul

That's a great name and a great song, I am old enough to remember when it came out! The speculations were that Willie was singing about his Les Paul guitar but later found out it was his drummer Paul English he was referring to. Ride on!!

Are you a led foot? IE speed demon or a light weigh? IE conscious driver

When that video first appeared on MTV Sammy was driving a 1968 442 convertible, I remember because I had a 1969 442 convertible and all my friends dedicated that song to me:cool:. That was in my younger days. I now drive the speed limit or at least I stay with the general flow of traffic. I...

    Virtue Ortho

Finished with the new brakes, shifter and grips. I rode 12 miles and wasn't crazy about the handlebars, in order to make them high enough for me I had used a quill extension however due to the angle it brought the grips too close to my body plus they felt too narrow with an uncomfortable wrist...

Thanks, I checked out the Metropolis bar. Do you think my cog has worn making the chain slack or is is more likely chain stretch? If I push the wheel all the way back on both sides it is not centered in the frame although it tightens the chain. When I ease up on the cog side to center it I get...

Yes I've read all about the Pederson and I've also read your threads on your build when I was lurking here, I was hoping you'd show up! Finished the brakes tonight, shifter and grips will be tomorrow. Then I'm thinking of a retro light setup and a leather bag, and maybe fenders. Your seat setup...

    Dumb Question about cables

I'm replacing all my cables and housings and a new Shimano 3 speed shifter. I noticed the shifter cable is slightly smaller than the brake cables, does it take a different housing or can I use brake cable housing? edit: OK so I Googled it and it looks like it's a bad idea, but then I went back...

were do you drawl the line? how many bikes are 1 to many?

I like things with wheels. I can fit about 5 motor vehicles on my property without it looking like a junk yard and without parking in the street, but only 4 comfortably meaning with 4 I can always drive any one of them without moving another one out of the way. So I keep 4 motor vehicles and...

Good thought. What about the noodle, do you lube inside that at all? Or what about a dry lube product?

Thanks, I'll watch for some of those

Starting on the brakes first as the new shifter stuff hasn't arrived yet, new cables, cable housings and pads. What do you guys use to lube the caliper arms and the cable housings? Do I need to go buy stuff or can I use my white lithium grease that I already have? I also have all sorts of spray...

    Finally found a BIG cruiser!

I like plain old cruisers, 3 speed or single speed, nothing fancy. I really like old Schwinn cruisers but have to modify them to fit

    Finally found a BIG cruiser!

I love that bike, being 6' 3" and long torso I am constantly modifying my bikes to comfortably fit me as I don't like to ride all hunched over. I'd love to find one, Search Tempest didn't turn anything up so probably buying new is my only option. Do you have trouble finding comfortable cars too...

Thanks, I'm actually in Tucson. Funny my brother lives in Iowa, he is a huge bicycle fan and he drove busses for the City of Coralville.

No it definitely doesn't have the cruiser look that I love. I don't know where the frames are made but for the price I doubt they are made in the US, they probably get them made overseas and maybe they assemble them in San Diego?

You can ride with a straight back, hence the name "Ortho". Plus it feels like 1890 when you're riding it.

    Virtue Ortho

I found a neglected Virtue Bikes "Ortho" yesterday for a good price. I have read a couple threads here by kingfish254 and MazdaFlyer about their builds on this model and might have questions. I have ordered a new shifter assembly, brake pads and will replace all cables. I also ordered the...

    New guy in AZ

New here although been lurking a bit, I love things with wheels and things with diesel engines. Anyway I have a small collection of bicycles (non-diesel:)) My 3 daily riders are a Soul Stomper "Mad Jimi" made in Mesa, AZ, a mid 1980's Schwinn Cruiser and a newly acquired Virtue "Ortho" which...
