Hard to replicate for 500, yes. The base bike is like 399, plus the drum brake front and rear, plus basket, etc etc. so there's no doubt it cost over 500 to the initial buyer, but I'd have a hard time coughing up that kinda dough for it. That said, my bike I posted further up this thread...

got back onto the bikes for a bit this evening. got the headsets in last week, but been buried at work. tonight i got the headsets in, forks on, stems in, bars and grips on, and put on the front wheels. it was at this point i realized..... i forgot to make them seat posts. and couldn't go...

those are sweet, but if i ever do a bicycle with a cable, i am going to use german band clamps with strap and cotter keys.

I'm not sure where they got the kit. They have all sorts of funky stuff As for the worksmans, front sprocket is 44, mine is 44/20, and it's too easy to pedal, theirs are going to be 44/18.

the worksmans? nah, i save BO10 for "real" builders the neighbors bike, thats the neighbors bike. i told him/them about the site, we'll see if they join up.

yeah, I'm a fan of the K.I.S.S. system i let them tell me what colors. they both wanted whitewalls, but i hate whitewalls, and i know they won't keep them clean, so black walls it is. just wanted to give em two solid bikes that will last for years to come. likely the last bikes they'll ever...

(inlaws) my wife's folks were due for new bikes, so rather than get em some off the shelf junk that will get mixed up at the pier, i decided to get some used frames from INDCHUCKZ and build them some mid grade industrial cruisers. most every part i ordered came from niagara cycle. good prices...

what handlebars are those? they look great, i need to get some taller bars for my worksman cruiser.

after:

i use a 12" piece of brass about 1/2 in diameter. hit with a real hammer, never messed up a cup, bearing, etc. i use it on motorcycle hub bearings, bike bearings, and bearings at work (vintage benz mechanic) brass rod can be bought any metal supply place.

the pink (over yellow) step thru is going to be turquoise, and the mens frame is going to be dark charcoal. other than that, i bought the exact same parts for both of them to be assembled with. so they'll be matched...... the ladies bike is getting a basket, per request.

two frames (from INDCHUCKZ) pre chain guard tab neutering, and off for powder coat today. couple new cruisers for the in-laws.

so, im digging the concept of this hub.... it would allow me to keep the gearing i have on low, and then it would auto shift to a more brisk gear when i spin out the 44-20.............. with no cables. no matter where i ride, theres hills, and with the 44-20 i can cruise up em sitting down...

i used a "fly racing, Vintage bend" on my bike in chrome and the knurling is very good.
