So what did I buy?? Any idea what this frame is

Indeed AMF! 1959 or later because it's a true cantilever and Schwinn held a patent on true canti frames until it expired in 1959.

    shelby supreme question

For most makes I agree fully, but Shelby used 1/2" pitch a lot more than most manufacturers prewar. Shelbys can be quite hard to distinguish between pre and postwar, but the truss arm fork screams prewar on this one.

    shelby supreme question

Circa 1940 +/-. Light would have likely been a Shelby "biscuit" light. Could have had a tank depending on how well-equipped it was. You can usually tell by distinct scratches along where a tank would sit, or if the paint on the in side of the top or bottom tube has an especially clean and...

    Any idea what is this?

CWC frame/fork likely very early postwar--late '45. Serial would verify this.

    Schwinn Hornet value

That's fair for what's there. It's an uncommon/desirable color scheme, springer, looks to be in good condition and the chrome will clean. It's later, '57-58 or so, so it will be a middleweight. A good bike. I think the original seat would have been a tan or black top Mesinger.

    What year is my CWC?

A great build start--I have that serial on the '38-39 border but I'd go with 1939.

    Junk Store Elgin?

Frame appears to be a '39 HP Snyder (Rollfast) and the fork is Colson. Frame geometry is similar to a Westfield built Elgin but the long, fluid frame arch is distinctly Snyder.

    schwinn model?

Fenders look to be 26" replacements. Wheels are likely original. Here's a picture from the '48 catalog only because the '47 is not posted anywhere.

    schwinn model?

It is indeed a youth bike. Serial under the BB puts it at pre-52. The C would put it just before the lost records.. I'd call it a late '47 bicycle. Because of this, the drop center rims could be original since the S-2 was not introduced until 1948.

    June '64 Stingray

Wow, I've never seen the radiant paint that faded! It honestly looks more like a 3-4 bill bike. It's rough but mostly original besides tires. Chrome looks like it'd come back but the seat is pretty rowdy, and the paint.. oh, the paint. A couple years ago I was bugging a kid all day at MLC to...

OLD OLD FRAME - WHAT IS IT?

Definitely looks 1895-1900ish. The hard thing is that there were about 100 bicycle manufacturers at this time and identifying it without a headbadge may be very trying. My first thought was Lovell Diamond and the geometry looks identical to this lugged frame on Nostalgic--the fork and chainring...

Need advice please about a Hiawatha.

I'd say it's a 1955 or right thereabouts. This is a bike built by Cleveland Welding company but it was after AMF bought them out. Looking at the serial number under the bottom bracket will give you a certain year--it'll end in 55Cw or the like. Looks pretty unmolested except the headlight is a...

Need advice please about a Hiawatha.

Easiest way for pictures is to go to imgur.com, you don't have to sign up for anything, just click upload photos, drag them into the box, then copy and paste the link that's surrounded by the

    Old straight bar frame

Oh, don't worry, you did no wrong. That was the only chart going around for a while and I don't know where it came from. I gave some bad info myself because adding in 'I' would put 'L' further away from '46 at 1948.. so I'm back to scratching my head. It sounded so legit for a minute. I've seen...

    Old straight bar frame

It is indeed a Murray frame. JC Higgins is the most common badging you'd see. The Murray guide that Wildcat linked to is incorrect information that made the rounds a few years back. It's about 6 or 7 years off if I remember correctly. Also, the important letter in dating your frame is the L in...

    Niagara - Any info?

36-13 is the hub information--36 hole, 13 gauge. So, without the date code, that hub could have been stamped in the last quarter of 1930. They typically sit around a bit before making their way onto a bike so that jives. Late teens to early 30s didn't see many stylistic changes so it's quite...

    Niagara - Any info?

Definitely Westfield (Columbia) built. This bike was indeed very tempting; it just came up at the wrong time for me or else I'd have been all over it myself! I'm surprised it stuck around as long as it did since the asking price was fair for the condition and completeness. The bike is later...

2 new rides, need some help

Is the number running parallel with the frame tubes? Or does it run sideways like most serials? It's a 26" ballooner fork--looks Rollfast. This frame would have had 28" wood wheels originally with the fork being a 28" and most likely having integrated truss rods. It was just assembled like...
