Yes... but they'll be on a different project. Justin

One of my LBS's was having a pretty good Christmas sale. Saw these 26x2.2 folding bead Forte Tsali tires at a discounted price. I'd never seen them before, but a little research and find out they're made by Gooodyear and reviews aren't bad either. They have decent tread without being too...

Got the 90mm drum laced up. The flimsy brake arm clamp it came with wasn't gonna cut it, so I used a 1" hinged MX seat clamp. Drilled a hole in the arm and cobbled a spacer and longer bolt together to get the spacing right. Might have a little issue with cable rub on the fork. Bending...

Ah.. no worries Rob. Had to start somewhere. If the 107 doesn't work, I'll bump up to 110. I was all excited to get the cranks on and got road blocked! Now the shipping wait begins.. which sucks in December. Justin

With the 103 BB, the Whites chainring locknut bottomed out on the BB cup before I could get a 30lb torque on the crank arm bolt. So.. I just ordered a 107. If that works, I can put a small spacer under the freewheel if need be to get a good chain line. I'll tackle that when the time comes. For...

Haha! Not quite too young, I'm 44 but compared to you sir, I guess I'd be considered young. I'll see how 32/18 does for me around my part of the world and go from there. I'm not afraid to make changes where needed. Might drop it down to 30, we'll see. Justin

Yep, those are then ones I have my eyes on. Better deals on eBay than directly from Paul. Justin

Got a few more parts in for this sucker. -SA rear drum -White Industries 18t freewheel -White Industries ENO 170 crancks -White Industries 32t chain ring w/ integrated bash guard. -Tange 68/103 BB All i need now are some Paul levers and a chain. I've never used one, but I'm gonna try out a half...

Funny... I was just thinking about this yesterday. If I bend them, I'll switch to a heavier duty track style billet tensioner. Justin

Thanks for the thoughts. Pinch flats are no fun for sure. The rims I'm using are 38mm wide, so that may help prevent them.. we'll see. I think I'll be using a set of Maxxis Holy Rollers + tubes that I have hanging in the shop. As far as the drum hub, I'll be using a set of Paul long pull levers...

Front hub came in yesterday. I was a little leery on what the quality of these SA hubs would be like. So far, I'm impressed! Looks tough as nails too! Justin

Cover bare metal frame/fork in epoxy primer, then high build primer, sand. Paint stenciled areas black, lay down stencils (sweat). Paint frame/fork mango color. Carefully pull stencils and lay down four coats of clear, hang & wait a couple days. Wet sand frame/fork paying special attention to...

Thanks again for the info 808! No, I'm not dead set on using a top end US made BB. I'd be just fine with the Shimano unit. I need to cut $$ where I can... because I AM dead set on using White Industries drive train otherwise!

Yeah that was just a teaser pic with paint over the stencil. I'll have some pics later today of the painted frame & fork. Black & Mango..(VW color)

I was thinking about pedals for this little piggy when I looked up and saw "Old Soul", my unfinished Build Off 8 bike, hanging from the rafters and realized it had the pedals I need for this build! ....ROBBED! :bandit: They're cheap Hong Kong CycleTrack platform pedals from eBay, but man do...

So at (roughly) 170mm from the center of my BB shell, my stays are only 106mm outside/outside. With Whites 108mm BB (128.5 clearance) I'd have about 11mm clearance on each side. Should be good right? I'll be back at the shop tomorrow, and I'll triple check it anyway.

Yeah I've been posting in the Klunkerz group lately. Its hard to document a build there though.. just highlights.

808! (Rob)... Once again you're doing all my research for me! I feel like I owe you some beers! I've been all over Whites website but haven't looked at the tech instructions. Great info! Thanks. Gonna try to get the frame & fork into paint over the next couple days. Normally...
