My '37, '38, and '39 catalog show the C model. The '37 and '38 has the same graphics as yours. The '39 has the same frame graphics but the tank graphics were changed. No C model shown in '40 catalog. Gary

Looks like an old Hornet frame. Chain guard is off a newer Schwinn. No pinstripes on the fenders and matching paint guard makes me think repaint. The graphics on the frame don't look disturbed so maybe frame paint original?? This one is a puzzle. Gary

Your bike has an American Flyer badge. It was sold by Louisville Cycle Supply in KY. Large distributorship owned by the Lipski family. Their badges were American Flyer and Speedway. I think that headlight is a silver ray. Worth $$$. Miller kickstand which might not be original to this...

Pedals are worth the price of the bike. Get some of those fuzzy stick on dots like they use for furniture legs. That will save your tank from dents. Gary

I had a '77 CJ7 from '78 until '04 when I sold it. The 304 shot craps and I put in a 360 from a J10 pickup. It really moved. Gary

I have two '41 Schwinn's. A DX and a straight bar. Both take standard 13/16" Schwinn seat posts. I would be surprised to see a '41 frame with anything but 13/16". Was the '41 frame badged Schwinn or some other hardware store brand? Or, maybe you have some damage to the seat tube. ??? Gary
