    Schwinn and Tires

"I dont know much about Schwinns but what little I do I avoid them at all cost." Great! That means there's more for me. "Wont 3ven take free ones because they are such odd ducks from my understanding." Schwinn is the standard. All the other brands are the odd ducks. Yuk Yuk! Gary

    NOS 1995 SCHWINN BLACK PHANTOM

One of the best things about them bringing out the '95 Phantom was the availability of parts. You could buy the whole bike in pieces. I bought parts I needed to restore my '54 Phantom. The leather seat, chrome fenders, AS pedals, a nice new badge, red grips, rack, Hungarian S2's. I remember...

Help with year on this schwinn c model

My '37, '38, and '39 catalog show the C model. The '37 and '38 has the same graphics as yours. The '39 has the same frame graphics but the tank graphics were changed. No C model shown in '40 catalog. Gary

    This a SCWHINN spitfire?

Looks like an old Hornet frame. Chain guard is off a newer Schwinn. No pinstripes on the fenders and matching paint guard makes me think repaint. The graphics on the frame don't look disturbed so maybe frame paint original?? This one is a puzzle. Gary

    Prewar? Schwinn

Your bike has an American Flyer badge. It was sold by Louisville Cycle Supply in KY. Large distributorship owned by the Lipski family. Their badges were American Flyer and Speedway. I think that headlight is a silver ray. Worth $$$. Miller kickstand which might not be original to this...

    QUITE A COLLECTION

Looks like our Goodwill. Skinny tire bikes everywhere and not a tank to be seen. Gary

    '95-'96 Schwinn Repro

Pedals are worth the price of the bike. Get some of those fuzzy stick on dots like they use for furniture legs. That will save your tank from dents. Gary

1952 Schwinn DX - First Savannah Ride

You sure found a nice one. Being a cheaper bike, I suppose they were more common at one time. Not so common now. My restored '41 with the short 16" frame. Gary

    Anymore Jeep freaks out there?

    I had a '77 CJ7 from '78 until '04 when I sold it. The 304 shot craps and I put in a 360 from a J10 pickup. It really moved. Gary

    Frame ID

BA-97. Gooseneck is a Wald #5 used by Schwinn quite a bit in '40 and '41. Gary

    '41 Schwinn Built Speedway

You're too kind Luke. I've threatened to change the color several times already. I should have made it red and black and been done with it. Not too late. Gary

    '41 Schwinn Built Speedway

Back in '95, a friend of mine bought a Schwinn springer from an old guy for $25. Here he is showing me the bike for the first time. I wanted it and he wouldn't sell it. I bugged him for a couple of months but nothing doing. Then one day he called me. He was frantic. He was finishing a...

What model Schwinn frame is this?

Post war cantilever frame. Looks like a middleweight. Spring fork is newer style made after '54. Hornet chain guard. Gary

    1941 Henderson B6

Real nice bike. I'm jealous. I have two '41 Schwinn's but both have been redone. Your bike has one year only Lobdell "special steel" flat top rims. I can tell by the heavy offset on the spokes. Only the deluxe bikes in '41 had those. One of my 41's had those as well but they were shot...

    Prewar Schwinn seat post question

I have two '41 Schwinn's. A DX and a straight bar. Both take standard 13/16" Schwinn seat posts. I would be surprised to see a '41 frame with anything but 13/16". Was the '41 frame badged Schwinn or some other hardware store brand? Or, maybe you have some damage to the seat tube. ??? Gary

    1957 Schwinn Wasp kickstand

Brackets are all the same...'46 until the factory burned. Your kickstand must not be an original Schwinn part. Gary
