    1954 SCHWINN JAGUAR

I think that has stainless fenders. Yes? I've only seen a few of those bikes. They must be pretty scarce. You found a nice one. Gary

    AGENT ORANGE

I have about a quart of Agent Orange. It was a common farm chemical in the 60's. I found it in an old barn while looking for bikes. 2,4,D and 2,4,5,T just like your 55 gal. drum says. One shot of that stuff kills anything. Loaded with dioxin. Is that drum really from '68? Gary

Some grandpa bike and old Schwinn paperweight ....

Yes! A '41 D97X. The "wing" graphics were first used in the fall of '40 for the '41 model year. Painted birdwing chainguard is also '41 one yr. only. Nice bike! And the bomb...wow! Gary

    Prewar Schwinn? - Model? Year?

Not a D97X. The paint graphics look like the D97X but the frame is a straight bar. DX has 2 curved bars. That's probably a Hornet. Gary.

    Need some schwinn help

Not a '46 but still early post war. Gary

    1940's schwinn lasalle

The more I think about it, this bike could be older than the "Hornet" name. I don't know what year the Rocket Ray came out but this bike might also have been built before the Rocket Ray. Torpedo may be correct. Maybe a very early version of the Hornet? You might check TRFindley's catalog...

    Need some schwinn help

Does the kickstand have a flat spot on the bottom, like someone ground it flat? It looks like it in the pic but can't tell for sure. A '46 is the only year with the ground off kickstand. Gary

    1940's schwinn lasalle

I think Clancy nailed it. A Deluxe Hornet with the wrong light. Should have a Rocket Ray light...but who's counting? Nice find for $100. Find a tank and you're in business. Gary

    Need some schwinn help

Yep, that's a B607. Looks like all you are missing is the tank. The serial number looks like I 45648. The I prefix was used right before the war and then again right after the war ended in '45. Your bike is likely a '46. Show a pic of the kickstand and I'll be able to tell if it's a '46...

    1937 Colson Imperial...Holy Grail

I didn't catch that. I thought it was somehow original and was confused. (as usual) Hope you find the correct fork! Gary

New here and Starting my first build

Your "Panther" is not a Panther. That's a Black Phantom frame. The Panther had a straight bar frame. Phantom has cantilever like yours. Nice frame! Gary

    1937 Colson Imperial...Holy Grail

I know less than nothing about Colson bikes. I do know that the springer on your bike looks just like a Schwinn springer. Schwinn came out with their springer in '37, the same year as your bike, and it was a copy of a springer on a 30's German motorcycle. Do you have any info on the...

    New job

Rural King gets in just a few guns of each type and they usually go real fast. You'll have the inside track when they arrive. I wish you worked at my Rural King, "old buddy". I live near the home office, Mattoon, IL. Gary

What's the flat plate in the lower left of the drawing? Does that flex or something? I'm not getting what it's for. Gary
