    Nexus 7 Question

I changed my tube using the youtube directions. A piece of cake. Now though, my rim is out of line. Could it be possible that the tube blowing out knocked the rim out of line? It was straight before because there is very little clearance and it didn't rub. It rubs now. I'll put it on the...

    Nexus 7 Question

Thanks Kingfish. Didn't think about youtube. I have to remove the wheel to replace the tube. I was airing it up and it blew in my face! Didn't hurt the tire luckily. Gary

    Nexus 7 Question

Removing rear wheel with Nexus 7. Do you have to have the hub in 1st gear to remove the clip thing that changes the gears or does it matter. How about reinstallation? I had trouble with that thing before and I've slept since then. Gary

If that is factory coppertone paint then it can't be a '53. Looks like a '66 to me. Gary

    JC Higgins but what year?

Late 40's or 50's would be a good guess. I think that one was built by Murray. Considering you're in the UK, that is a super find. Heck, it would be a super find around here. Gary

    Grease/Oil in a Bendix Kickback

Take the index spring off but remember which way it goes on. If you put it on backwards it won't work. Some people have bent the little tabs back in place but it's a hardened spring and you can break it easily. Don't bend on it if it's working okay. Gary

    Grease/Oil in a Bendix Kickback

I agree. Use a drop or two of light oil on the index spring. I only use white lithium on kickbacks. When you reassemble, leave a slight amount of side to side play. Tighten the axle nuts first, brake arm last. Kickbacks like a slightly loose chain too. Gary

I'd say the 20" has to be shorter. Gary

    Finally Got My Dream Bicycle...

I'm only 6'2" but have long legs. This Continental is the only bike in my stable that truly fits me. I love my precious old ballooners made for 12 yr. old boys but sometimes you just have to have a bike that fits. 808, my head tube looks longer that the one on your blue bike. Not sure of my...

    Help with Bendix S7 hub

Red band kickback was the first one made, '60-'64. Lubricate the hub with white lithium grease. Don't use heavy grease. Don't grease the index spring. Just put a drop or two of oil on it. When reassembling, tighten the adjustable cone just enough that there is a little play side to side on...

I think they changed from the Mark II to the Mark IV in 1960 or '61. New style chrome rack, new style chainguard and new seat. Gary

    receiver hitch bike carriers

I just got back from a road trip to GA. I passed several vehicles with this type of rack carrying two bikes each. The things were shaking forward and backward constantly. I'd make sure you bought one with darn good welds. That constant rocking with the weight of the bikes on there would...
