    American Standard

Drop center rims. That has to be an early post war bike. I'd guess a '46. Gary

66 Schwinn Sting Ray? Please Help

The first couple of years they made StingRays they used the same frame as the 20" Typhoon. The "shorty frame". Then they lengthened the frame for the StingRay for safety as it was too easy to pull wheelies. Early StingRay...short crank like the Typhoon. Later StingRays had a longer crank. Gary

    Another free Schwinn

Can't see any rust on the front fender in your pic so might be stainless. Gary

    Bendix manual 2 speed rebuild

The adjustable cone that is on the axle in the above pic has a lead insert in it to keep it from moving. The cone has to be adjusted exactly right to get it to shift. I messed up one of these hubs by removing the cone. Gary

Which Nexus 3 washer on a pre-war frame?

Forget those tabs. Grind them down and crank down the nuts. It won't move. That's what I did with my prewar Schwinn frame and a Nexus 7. Hasn't moved yet. Gary

    I broke this today...

It ain't the bike, it's your legs. They're too powerful from all that riding. Skipton, the incredible hulk.:showingbiceps: Gary

    Barn Find Bike

Add a front brake to your list. You'll need a good one with a motorized bike. Gary

Mozart.. oop! err.. I meant Monark bicycles

I was hunting deer with my bow behind an old abandoned farm house and spotted a junk pile in the ravine near the house. Two junk bikes in the pile, both old ballooners. I helped myself to both. Here's the Monark just like I found it in the ravine. I stripped it down, washed the frame good...

    Winchester Bike

Winchester (the gun co.) made a wide variety of products in the 20's. Roller skates, wrenches, you name it. When the depression hit in '29 they stopped making everything except guns. Since that bike is not a 20's bike, I'd say it has nothing to do with Winchester Gun Co. Gary

    58 Schwinn Hornet

Those are early oval grips. Came from a much older Schwinn. Used '41-'50 something. Gary

    Schwinn serial number help

By '58, most frames were middleweights. If you managed to put a rear Phantom fender in that frame, it is likely a '52 balloon tire frame. Do the 3 finger test. Just above the rear fender bridge is a triangular area. Lay 3 fingers on top the bridge and see how they fit. It they are tight, you...

    House paint pride

If it's a Panther it would have chrome fenders under the paint. It could also be a BA-107, the deluxe straight bar bike which was the painted version of the Panther before it came out. Springer was an option on the BA-107. A Panther or a BA-107 would not have painted rims, they would be...
