Got this one rideable last night and took it for a midnight ride. Then worked on it a bit today and rode it some more.

Various non-military ham rigs, store bought and homebrew. FT-817, SGC 2020, Ten Tec Argo 505 and 556, MFJ 94 series, and several kit-built and scratch-built rigs. Both SSB and CW.

This convo is very much of interest to me because I have family in and have spent a goodly amount of time in both Ishpeming MI and Mesa CO. Also, while I have never owned a PRC-47, I have done quite a bit of man-portable HF with other rigs. Including operating from both of those areas.

How much for a kickstand and parts to install it?

Cheap department store, steel frame Mongoose. Got it for $25 and threw a hubmotor kit on it. I don't like full suspension on a pedal-only bike, but it can be an advantage on a motorized bike.

Bought this brand new for $1300 shipped. That was two years ago, and I still ride it regularly.

I've been looking at some of the motors that just have a mounting flange and a toothed sprocket, and use a separate controller. They're cheaper than hub motors and mid drives, and more flexible. They do require a bit of ingenuity to set up, but I like to tinker anyway.

It's 135mm. I just put it in a MTB frame today. I'll probably use a non-hub motor and a chain to convert an industrial cruiser.

Same here. I would rather spin out on the flats than strain on mild grades. I went with 36/22 on my recent Husky build and don't regret it at all.

Good combo. I don't know what bike manufacturers were thinking when they made 46/18 the de facto standard for SS cruisers.
