    the beginning of my "fakie" bent fork prototype, i know i know but just wait, you'll see... It may even work I wanna keep going but my neighbor is having some kind of dinner party outside so i am gotta quit the grinding stink burning - for now ha!

    Thanks KF! I had a feeling you had vision- and so you do! Found some more parts so used those, instead of tubing So, how did i get here? I did take A LOT of pictures, but i wound up building instead of posting. Here's a few, let me know if you would like to see more.

    Most likely, but I may cut those legs and leave myself the wiggle room for a different size wheel. I ado like how undersized wheels look on a big frame- but this one will have built in clearance issues...

    hit 'em real good with penetrating oil -PBblaster, liquid wrench, wd40 ish stuff- it does great at disolving rust-y crud. Then use a plastic scraper ( i like plastic 'razor' blades) and a scotch brite pad. Lather, rinse repeat. be sure to re-lube similar to above, because the penetrant also...

    I think you are gonna need the thinnest wall you can get away with, and count on the shape to provide strength. Then weld carefully. Here's a link to various wall thicknesses of 1 inch steel tubing, the first three listings are.049, .065, .85 and .95 wall respectively...

    HDPE is solid choice, I use it for idler wheels on my gas-bicycles' chains, it holds up great! Just whack 'em out with a holesaw, ready for a 1/4" axle. Even just a stationary nosing cut from flat sheet would probably work, and be replaceable when it wears

    Holy cow! How much does that thing weigh? Dig the concept like crazy, but wow, that looks like a lotta work!
