I made some counter top extensions on the CNC router at work

i built some tables at work the other day using our CNC router. You draw onthe computer and the CNC router cuts it out I used a large "scrap" of black melamine. It was a cover sheet for delivery- one side was ruined by the forklift, the other was perfect. The CNC makes it easy to put dado...

Loose bearing cup in wheel hub

I never really thought about it being a separate piece, but it makes sense It is a similar strategy as is applied to the rest of the bike

You can do it! You should do it! People scoff, but i like my flux set up, cheap, quick and dirty. Small and easy to put away. On balance against its flaws. I am sure other love their set up too.

Loose bearing cup in wheel hub

has anyone else ever had a Loose bearing cup in a wheel hub- i had not and it was making a heck-uva racket, an I could not get the bearings adjusted to save my life The cup was spinning freely in the hub, so i took it out, and first tried grinding divots around (the surprisingly hard) cup...

Here are some images of a schwinn OCC system (blue) and a huffy WCC system the WCC system actually uses a threadless mount! the plate is clamped to the steer tube . These work perty much like N13's chalk-up You can see the plate(s) is slit and clamps the fork leg. The blue one is bolted in...

That fire cat is a weird set up IMHO "most" systems have the steering tube connected to just the bottom plate, and the top plate is screwed in place by the steer tube crown, The fork legs are clamped or bolted in place ( often the bottom plate is the same, legs clamped in) This allows for...

It is all about the shapes. Those "triangles" are much more rigid and strong than the material alone and the forces are passed along (to the next weakest spot- ha) N- yer stuff always looks so good! Love the chalk drawing (on the van i assume)

    Homemade Tools

while I was at it I made this head bearing cup extractor. Up to now I just used a cutoff piece of rebar. I just looked at pictures of the tool available from other places and copied it. It is a piece of three-quarter inch EMT tubing with four slits in it. I also drilled holes at the ends of the...

    Polishing Galvanized Conduit

Limited exposures. Outside. Or with a fan. Or wear a respirator, that is why the mask is so big. But also don't burn yourself, and be careful riding your bike in traffic, these are all risky undertakings OSHA simply says to use vent and respirator, and grind back galv one inch, if possible...
