    BO15 Acetone.... Done!

this is looking good! I really like the "king and queen seat" The forks are just amazing, they seem quite "bent" to accomodate that backside rocker, sool cool Nice job so far!

Gains? I thought I was doing well just to be "given" the garage and "allowed" to keep my stock and faves!

26” Cantilever Style Frame Comparision Thread

It is really surprising how much variation there is among what at first glance appear to be more or less identical frames! Add to that the fork variations (height, bend, etc.) and I am really starting to see why some kids bikes were "cooler" than others out of the box! Thanks for this!

Thanks Dr. T and Cap'n A ! I really appreciate the feedback! Part of this idea is that i can unbolt the extension(s) on the fork(s) and try out diff lengths and wheels etc. It is sometimes hard to dial that stuff in when I am building freehand

Thanks! Not only is the front end Phat, it is pretty heavy... oh, and thanks for commenting

thanks for commenting! That is a good idea, not so much for support, but just cuz it looks a bit wierd (IMO) with the fork tops "waving" in the air, un-attached - The build and front end remind me a bit of those Jesse James choppers from Wally. This is just me playing around with not much plan...

Thanx and, I am glad you like it! I really enjoy messing around building stuff, and it sounds like you do too. I am getting better at making the bikes come out (closer to)how I am imagining, but man, it has taken a bunch of tries! The forks are the latest in a string of experiments, as I try...

Yeah, it's a thing. I work at a science museum, and i really enjoy talking with guests, even though it is not part of my actual job requirements. Most people do not like it if they are not part of front line staff, but i enjoy it, and it really informs my regular work. Criticism, even...

oddly I HAVE had the opposite happen. Someone stole one of my (bright yellow) choppers. 2 days later i was on the train in the bike car and there it was in the rack. The train has its own cops so i talked to them, and we confronted the guy on the platform as we exited. After a bunch of Blah...

Thanks, Bud! I noticed that some (of my)threads get a lot of views, but just a few comments, and usually from a few regulars. I mean, I love you guys(!), but also am curious about what these other folks think - I am diggin' RRB and its participants!

Hmmm, this makes me wonder not just about "found" bikes, but even about the (cheap) ones I pick up on CL or other local classified ads. I suppose I could be buying stolen (or otherwise) bikes- or that someone could just change their mind after selling it to me- not much paperwork for these...

Bike specific steel- Where do YOU get it? Ashtabula (1 pc.) BBs in particular but

I have been building a style that requires a second Bottom Bracket lately, and I am running out! I like single piece cranks, (i know, i know), 2.02" ID [OD largely unimportant] and the material for bottom brackets seems largely un-available out-side of cutting 'em off other bikes So, where do...

Hey, leave me a comment! even if it is "cool" or "you suck" "learn to spel" or what-ever! I can take it, more comments! anyway: I tried out something with the fork, i think i could get away with (4) 3/8" bolts as well as longer bolts I like the chunky-ness of this front end but it may e a bit...

    Shorten a steer tube

Yeah for sure, thread something (the bearing cone)past where you are going to cut, cut (with a grinder), and then back that thready thing off- should be good to go!
