    Professional cyclist Killed

:( always sad to hear of the cyclist vs auto accidents, they hardly ever favor the cyclist. Makes me hesitant to ride road whenever I hear of these accidents. There was an endurance cyclist struck and killed recently while competing...

    Winter weather advisory bike ride

I feel for ya and the foul weather. I went out for a mtb ride yesterday here, because it was raining in Denver. Weird weather happens here sometimes, when it rains down in the city it is usually not raining up in the hills. The rain down there deterred most if not all the adventurous folk and I...

Derailleur advice, retrofit old bike to new gear, Test Ride

This is awesome. Something I hadnt even considered! Hard to see from the pics as they are from the non drive side, but if its shimano XT with the deerhead then either keep it OG, restore it and keep it running as is, or sell the whole grouppo to Bicycle808 and fund your rebuild! That is a cool...

Anybody else can't wait for the BO12 ???

Thanks for all the tire choices in 26x1-3/8! I can get most of those brands through distributors, but need to check on model and color, they may not carry as many options for those here. Not the most popular wheelsize over here, but I have a Robin Hood that would look good with some brown...

    All I could fit...

Yeah was a good day! The ladies bike is a Ross Super Deluxe, or a spaceliner clone. Not nearly as nice as the Murray made Flight and Space Liners, but still a pretty bike, and its up for sale. My girl just doesnt ride it much. Sent from my SM-G550T1 using Tapatalk

    All I could fit...

Went to a local bike show, bbq, and ride recently. This was all I could fit in the Jeep, had a couple more I could have brought but these made the cut. Was a fun day, I brought the most bikes, which surprised me, there are some big collectors around here.

    '82 Schwinn Sidewinder

Not yet... a few employees have been drooling over it but no one has made the purchase! Trying to get more vintage and cool stuff out on the floor but we just dont have the customer base for selling cool vintage stuff, mostly people looking for deals and cheap old hybrids. :(

Derailleur advice, retrofit old bike to new gear, Test Ride

Riding offroad without some sort of guide or tensioner to keep your chain on the chainring is a sure way to injure yourself. I have experienced chain drop just rolling around town on a setup like that, would not recommend going offroad with that setup. I know some, myself included, have used...

Shimano Nexus 8 speed coaster brake hub

I do cringe a little when people bring those into the shop, mostly due to the cable attachment. Most general consumers are not even going to attempt to fix their own flat with that setup. It is a pain to install at first, but I have found some tricks. I usually install the button/cable clamp...

Derailleur advice, retrofit old bike to new gear, Test Ride

Looking at the frame it should be able to accept some more modern parts. It has a derailleur hanger which is a plus! If you do upgrade to more speeds, you will end up swapping a lot of parts, but can make it perform better. Being that it is a 6 speed on the rear wheel, I imagine it has a...

    Very thin brake washers/spacers

The vintage mtb market is starting to pop off, the early-mid 90s stuff is increasing in value. Us guys that grew up reading mtb action in High School are buying the dream bikes we wanted back then I think. Not telling you to sell yours, hold onto it for as long as you can, keep it in good shape...

Anybody else can't wait for the BO12 ???

I have personally ridden these Mavic Aksiums on some rough singletrack, more than once, they are quite solid. Highly recommended as an entry level road wheelset! Sent from my SM-G550T1 using Tapatalk

    New brake setup

Unfortunately... that is a Bontrager tire, Avid single digit threes, and a fork that is either carbon or aluminum, that is a Trek 7.? FX bicycle, 7.2 maybe? Not 100% on their models and colors, but that is a bike shop quality bike, that either wasnt assmbled well, or... the employees at the shop...

Anybody else can't wait for the BO12 ???

I just noticed the downtube shifters on the cannondale, what model is it? Does the model name/number start with a "T"? I thought it was a hybrid judging by the short seat tube and sloping top tube, but I stand corrected. It looks to be a small, really small, touring fame from C'dale back in...

Anybody else can't wait for the BO12 ???

Somewhat. Think a mix between your C'dale and a traditional road bike, basically a road bike with larger volume tires similar to those on your hybrid. Geometry tends to be more relaxed than a road bike as you are riding anything from pavement to gravel roads to mild singletrack. Lots of fun...

Anybody else can't wait for the BO12 ???

That would be cool to see! I have done a couple gravel grinders, most recently the Oskar Blues Old Man Winter Rally. Opted for the 100k, was nowhere near winning but had a blast on the ride, the shorter course didnt go up left hand canyon or anywhere near the mountains so I figured I had to...

Anybody else can't wait for the BO12 ???

Hubless would be really cool, would love to see it done really clean like the bike is literally floating. Need to up my fabrication game!

    Very thin brake washers/spacers

Wait, you rebuilt a Mag 21? I did one of those back in 1999/2000 and my service manager was giving me some strange looks, as in, why the hell are you doing that? Nowadays that fork has some vintage mtb value, I recently sold a Mag 21 SL Ti, but I wasnt going to be the guy overhauling it! Props...
