My beast got here, I like it! it was double boxed and in excellent shape! No scratches bends or dents.I removed the decals and repacked the headset and front hub, all else was tip top from the box. Its not a fast rolling bike, far from it! I went down hill, stood up and crank those cranks arms...

My opinion? Clean it up, keep it as orig as you can and ride the heck out of it! J.C. Higgins is a nice collector bike and from what I can see in the pics its pretty much complete! If I had it it would be a keeper. You can clean up the rust by soaking all the bits and pieces in common white...

My Beast came in today! Double boxe, no damage to the bike or box! Needed grease in the headset but all else is good! I think Ill take it over to the LBS and have them regrease everything anyways. (I can do it but Ive been very tired lately)

This ones a Rixe, pretty darn old, and it has the rear foot brakes along with the front hand brake that pushes a rubber pad down onto the top of the tire via a spring loaded "piston" thingy, the rear brake basically works the same. OH crap! my Beast came in! Gotta go! :D

Yeah, but was it a 26 inch Mongoose Beast? :D BTW, my Goose is sitting in some sorting facility in another county! Im pretty sure I'll never see it. Dont know if Ill ask the to send me a another bike or just get a refund, Im kinda Goosed out.

Re: FINISHED MY MONGOOSE BEAST TODAY Personally....PERSONALLY! I don't like the tires and bars, the white striped tires kill it for me, and the bars just don't fit the "Beast" style bike, makes it look like a wanna be vintage/antique bike, but you like it and thats all that matters. :wink...

Re: Fuji Super 12 - XL frame - for free! The OP wants to SS it, not FG it. :P I say go for it! It would def make a great SS if you use the bars you have in the pics, and the front brake is a great way to supplement the foot brake. Please post pics when shes all dressed up and ready to go out...
