I'm not sure about a pre war but 2.35" fit my 55 Schwinn HD no problem, no mods. I'm running 3.0"s now which required hammering, English wheel, cutting, etc...

In preparation of Tour de Fat coming to town (and my plan of riding to it from home/80+ mile round trip) I made a Growler/Howler bike seat carrier this weekend. Using a repurposed a leather belt, 1/4" Chicago screws(... bolts), leather punch, heavy duty needle and thread. I didn't take any pics...

Ok, fitting or trying to fit 26x3.0 tires on a 55 Schwinn HD with ND rear hub, Script front hub and S2's that I recently relaced. They will clear the chain stay/bottom bracket junction by about 3mm per side and I need a longer rear fender support to get the fender to no longer rub. Little...
