Old thread but... Elbow grease, Odorless mineral spirits and a fine scotchbrite pad... It's what has worked for me.

I recently rebuilt my New Departure Model D Rear Hub. Pretty easily done, just time consuming. Here are a few pics. Anyone in Metro Phoenix Area can hit me up if help is needed.
