    '64 Schwinn Hornet Strandie

That doesn't matter. A lot of cruiser bikes are geared low for easy riding. Most people that ride bikes like that have no desire to go fast.

WTB: Cheap old school 26in MTB

No problem there then. I guess I thought the bikes I've seen that were called "gravel bikes" all had 700c wheels.

What kind of tire/wheel setup would you have on a gravel bike? Not a lot of clearance with a 700x37 on my Schwinn SierraHad to let the air out of the tire to get it in the horizontal drop-outs.

    Gravel Grinder Green Motobike 1930

Looks great! I really like these stem and bars for a lot of applications. Has been really comfortable, and plenty low enough for me on a few different bikes.

    The "Dad" Cruiser

That's a really cool bike. Looks great! Trying to find a similar setup for my 8-speed 700c wheelset. Nothing has been quite perfect yet.

Best gearing for 26" single speed

That's a good quick reference, but is of course assuming that all 26" tires are 26 inches tall. Since I don't know the exact formula, I just used Sheldon Brown's calculator. https://www.sheldonbrown.com/gear-calc.html And rounded off to the "27 inch nominal" for the 26x2.4 Rock Hawks, which...

Best gearing for 26" single speed

Bringing back this old thread. I'm running 26x2.4 big knobby, high rolling resistance, 27.25" tall tires on my Nexus-4 equipped, 35 pound klunkruiser, with a 39 front and 22 rear, for something near 48, 60, 72, 88.5 gear inches. I don't quite get full leg extension sitting down, and I might be...

    WBO/MBBO 2019-2020 Oct 1st start.

Sorting through some potential ratty seat support/sissy bar material. Got some painted and galvanized options also.

I have five or six variants of black, not counting black primer. Flat, satin, semi-gloss, gloss, high gloss, and metallic.

    Kona AA 26" BMX Cruiser

Come on down from the Great White North Matti! I'm sure I could hook you up with something. Maybe the leftovers of this little Hardrock CrMo with a SS street setup using solid rubber tired heavy duty wheelset from a share-a-bike?

Automotive Paint without a gun or compressor

That option looks pretty neat. Was just looking at econo HVLP spray guns a couple of days ago. About forty bucks or so. I really want to spray Imron or something similarly durable on my next keeper bike. And have been going over a couple of ideas for a small temporary/convertible booth setup...

    Kona AA 26" BMX Cruiser

Might get a slightly smaller 2.25? and lighter set of tires for the klunkruiser and setup a second wheelset for the Kona with the 2.4 Rock Hawks. I think I can just squeeze them past the brake bosses.

    Kona AA 26" BMX Cruiser

These 26x2.35 Crazy Bob's will end up on one of the bikes three wheelsets.Strange, they don't match exactly. Bought off Amazon at two different times. The one with the less bright lettering came from a bike shop. Maybe a second? And the brighter one came from an Amazon warehouse. I might buy...

    Kona AA 26" BMX Cruiser

Carbon fork is on the back burner right now since all my wheelsets are for rim brakes. But that's the way I want to go. Might just have to buy a caliper brake for the front, if the carbon forks will accept them. In the meantime, low budget BMX Cruiser stem and bars have been obtained. The bars...
