WTB: Cheap old school 26in MTB

Try Craigslist and pawn shops. That's where I've gotten all my bikes. A couple of fairly good deals on some nice 80's mountain bikes with 7x rims. A little more legwork, but that's what it takes sometimes. I actually have a Schwinn Sierra frame and fork that size. And if you were local I...

    Gravel Grinder Green Motobike 1930

Yeah, black goes with lots of stuff. And it looks tougher, more like a guys color, than creme or some other neutral color. I always default to black unless you could find some old alligator purse you could cut up and make darts with. I've thought about a lace on leather steering wheel cover. I...

    Roadmaster fork disassembly?

You would have to use one with a 3/8 square drive socket, or the 1/4" hex drive, to attach your long extensions to.

    Roadmaster fork disassembly?

On a Rockshox you have to use a long extension or two, and a 5 or 6mm allen, to reach all the way to the bottom to unscrew it on each side. Might be similar.

Black darts would look good. I'd probably try some stainless paint on the trusses.

    WBO/MBBO 2019-2020 Oct 1st start.

Is that all? I got all these cans of spray paint. And I gotta use'm all so I can use the milk crate on one of my entries. And three skateboards, one waterski, and a snowboard I gotta build banana seats with!

What have you been riding lately?

I been riding these two cruisers with near identical seat to pedal orientation. The foot forward Fuji is lower geared, lighter and longer, with higher bars. But I'm more likely to skim a toe on the front tire when turning.

Kingfish254's Finds - Over Ten Years of Kingfish Scores!!

Yeah. I know now. Sweet looking front hub too. Would've liked to have had them now to put on my old early 80's Prairie Breaker. And I really like toro's e-bike on the Felt aluminum frame.

Kingfish254's Finds - Over Ten Years of Kingfish Scores!!

Well I've got five ladies bikes. One bought for the Dyno Flame tires. A red Schwinn Frontier I think,or one using the same frame. Converted to single speed with a chrome coaster brake wheelset. Pretty nice looking bike and could surely sell it with different tires. One old near unused Schwinn...

Kingfish254's Finds - Over Ten Years of Kingfish Scores!!

Cool! There was an NYC Taxi in the local CL a few weeks ago for $100. Thought it might be steel though. And yellow. And 24's. And....I had too many bikes?:bandit:

A three wheel recumbant would be cool... 26 in back with 20's on each side of the crank. Maybe a steering wheel.

    Craigslist nightmares and dreams...

So I have learned. I've bought several bikes over the last few months just because I wanted one or two parts off of it. But am hoping I can put the scraps together and unload a few before I add another.

Where to post, mountain bikes, fat bikes or builds?

I'd suggest sewing. I'm fixin to take it up in hope that I can make some lightweight flexy hammock-like banana seats out of a snowboard(which might have some carbon fiber in there somewhere). Might have to get one of them fancy wood handled butter knifes. Something similar to your bike build is...

Leaf Spring Springer Fork, have parts, ideas welcome

Compact tractor seat springs sounds more reasonable than a trailer spring. I was thinking a piece of an old snow ski would work well.

Specialized FSR 1999, anyone own or owned one?

Could be a great find depending on price and condition. One thing I'd be concerned with is fit. Don't know if it's the case with that particular bike, but a lot of mid-school mountain bikes had short top tube length and steep steering angles. I prefer the opposite. Long top tube and slack...

    Shimano 3CC sadness

I just got a 333 today in a small haul. Freewheel version I guess? But the hole in the axle is on the drive side. Didn't come with any of the shifting mechanisms, so I'm just hoping to get in an appropriate gear to use it as a single speed. Got some acorn axle nuts to cover up the hole.
